PC World reviewed different laptop models and says MacBook Pro is the fastest laptop running Microsoft Windows Vista programs even among computers with dedicated Vista only OS. MacBook with its Leopard OS can run both Vista and Mac programs.

The new Apple MacBook Pro has a lightweight 17 inch screen with the new Leopard OS. It boasts 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo T7700 Intel processor, with maximum 4GB RAM, and 160 GB Hard Drive, nVidia GeForce 8600m GT graphics card and sells for $2,799. The price may be on the high side for comparative Windows based laptops, but outperforms all other laptop according to PC World.

PC World loaded Windows Vista Home Premium on the Apple notebook, it got a “WorldBench 6 Beta 2” score of 88. With games, it was able to achieve a frame rate of 141 frames per second in Far Cry. They compared with other laptops running only Windows OS programs, still MacBook Pro came out on top despite running two OS in it, Vista OS and Leopard OS.

It is only 6.6 pounds in weight and just 1 inch in thickness, MacBook Pro is the lightest 17 inch notebook in its class. It has no memory card slots, only three USB ports and two FireWire ports. PC World said battery life is not a good one, in their tests it worked less than 2 hours, 45 minutes (Apple has 5.7 hours on one charge in its specifications).

It is time to switch to Apple OS.

Some people want to run some programs before they convert totally I think it will be helpful for them to run both. I would rather convert them into Mac totally and forget about Windows forever.

I think by the time Vista has sorted out ALL it's problems, A new O.S will be just around the corner.

Interesting nevertheless.;)

Nothing prevents from having both on the same machine. The reason to have Windows are the same reason since Dos / Windows exists: the huge availability of softwares.

And when one works in Big 500 World Companies it's on Windows not on Mac.
