High quality for worry –free underwater shooting. This is one of the major feature of  Optio WS80. This camera can be used without any worry that it might get wet for it has SP (Super Protect) coating on the protective glass element installed at the front end of the zoom lens so can simply clean it with fresh water if it was covered by dirt or sand.

Regardless of its compact dimensions, the Optio WS80 features an optical 5X zoom lens. It also offers the Intelligent Zoom function, which extends the zoom range up to approximately 28.5 times for even tighter zooming in on the subject. The Optio WS80 features a large 2.7in high-brightness color LCD monitor. It has also an image recovery function so that you can still recover images you accidentally erased.

The Pentax ws80 is a go for surfing!

It doesn't matter if it's only rated to 3 feet like Pentax's first wp was. You only go a few feet past that on heavy wipe outs or duck diving big days for a few seconds. It will stay waterproof!!! I've been using the original wp with the Surf Camera case for 4 years now as an avid surfer and it's still working.
