POLITICAL CLASS [VS] MIDDLE CLASS

Shame of it is, in the war against the Middle Class, the front line for the enemy (Big Business) is made up of individual members of congress, in the Senate and the House.

Congressmen who’s wives are working in comfortable corporate positions that allow their companies unfettered access to their husbands. We are expected to believe that these relationships don’t compromise the politicians decisions on vital pieces of legislation.

We are expected to ignore when these relationships mean that the proper oversight of Banks and Mortgage lenders is ignored. Over the past few decades this situation has been allowed to thrive.

If the politics in Washington is to ever be changed; then this is one situation that needs to be addressed. If your spouse wants to work for a large corporation; fine but you need not apply for a seat in congress. If the situation arises after you’ve been elected then you or your spouse will have to decide who is going to stay home with the kids.

Senator Evan Bayh-of Indiana; is one such case. His wife sits on the boards of several health care Insurance related firms. So is it coincidence that he is really against health care reform?  I don’t think so. Though he has agreed to vote for the Bill, it was only after considerable arm twisting.  This type of conflict of interest is totally unacceptable.

And its not just Health Care Reform, Banks not lending money after taking huge bail out sums from the public, and there is nothing that the other members of...congress can, or will do about it.

Their main goal is to get reelected, come hell or high water. They promise to represent us knowing that their allegiance is to their own lively hood and that they...will be beholding to the big money contributors to their campaigns.

So technically we are fighting against our selves. Practically every vote we cast is recruitment vote for the front line in the Great American-Class War. A no win situation for Middle Class and poor families.

And no need wondering if shame will bring us allies, these people only know rich vacations; with their families, good seats at the best restaurants, under the table perks when they defeat legislation designed to help the Middle Class, and protection from being called out by their congressional brothers who are to cowardly to step up and make things write.

And I forgot to mention the best health care in the world.
