PPC Bully Scam? The Absolute Truth Revealed
69
Have you ever wondered how other successful affiliate marketers are promoting their products via Google Adwords? Well, by using a tool like PPC Bully you can figure this out and I hope to show you in this review how it works. PPC Bully is a web based tool that allows you to discover and expose your competitor's pay per click campaigns.
This means that you can uncover exactly what keywords, ad copy, and landing pages that successful advertisers in your niche are using. If you have ever tried weeding out your unprofitable keywords or spent time split testing your ads, you know how time consuming this whole process can be. With PPC Bully, you save time and money and can instead concentrate your efforts on scaling up or launching new pay per click campaigns.
PPC Bully works using the same idea as other PPC ad spy tools. Basically, if an advertisement for a keyword is shown consistently over a long period of time, then the advertiser must be making lots of money with it. Why else would they be spending on advertising if they weren't making money? PPC Bully measures this using a metric called Profitability-Indicator (PI).
PI is calculated using this formula:
PI = (Number of days seen * Percentage seen) / Number of days last seen
For example, lets say an ad is running for the keyword "best guitar course". It's been seen 14 days out of 18 and was last seen 2 days ago.
- Number of days seen = 14
- Percentage seen = 14/18 = 78%
- Days last seen = 2
- PI = (14 * 78%) / 2 = 5.
What does this number mean? Well as a general rule of thumb, a profitable ad usually has a PI above 7. As you can see from the example, the fact that the ad wasn't shown in the past two days is enough to swing this ad from profitable to unprofitable status.
How Does PPC Bully Work?
Using PPC Bully is actually quite simple. To start, you first need to create a new project and enter in your keywords. With a regular account, you can scan up to 500 keywords, although you can also upgrade to the Gold account which gives you the ability to scan up to 2000 keywords. After a few days you will start seeing the results for your keywords in your accounts and they will subsequently be updated on a daily basis. To get optimal value from PPC Bully, you will need to run scan your keywords for at least 10-14 days to get accurate results. The longer the better!
PPC Bully also has the concept of a Bully Project. A bully project is a special feature of PPC Bully which scans your keywords up to 24 times a day. This allows you to accurately track ads that are only shown at certain parts of the day. This gives you a more comprehensive look at certain ads that you don't get from any other ad spy tool.

My Experiences With PPC Bully
I am currently a member of PPC Coach and I've found PPC Bully to be an invaluable tool for my pay per click campaigns. Although there is talk of a PPC Ad Spy Tool being developed for PPC Coach members, it is still not available yet and so far PPC Bully has proven to be a nice alternative while we wait.
I have tried other ad spy tools like iSpionage and Traffic Travis before. iSpionage is more expensive and I don't like the interface as much. Although Traffic Travis is free, PPC Bully has the advantage of being web based. This means that I can be hands off with my scans and everything will be done automatically for me. Although Traffic Travis supports scheduled scans, I have to make sure the software itself is open during that time. This is a hassle and I usually end up having to run my scans manually. PPC Bully also has the advantage of being able to scale with the more projects and keywords you have. It also has better search and filtering capabilities which makes it easier to find the information you need.
PPC Bully doesn't do everything automatically for you. You still need to perform keyword research to get the right set of keywords. Usually, I end up using a combination of the Google Adwords keyword tool and Market Samurai's keyword tool. Both these tools are free and they allow me to generate a large number of keywords for any niche that I am entering. For best results, I always have PPC Bully scan my keywords for at least two weeks. I've found that if I scan for any time period less than that, the results are noticebly less reliable.
Once I have my results, I then use PPC Bully to figure out how I should start my pay per click campaign. If I am researching a market that has many ads for Clickbank products, then I will see if any people are profiting using direct-linking. As this is the easiest way to make money for the lazy affiliate marketer, I will usually attempt to do this first. Although, this is not really a long term solution as it can be very competitive with several affiliates trying to direct link for the same keyword. Therefore, if I find that my direct linking campaign is indeed profitable, then I will start the process of creating a landing page for it.
Using PPC Bully, I can quickly see how other affiliates are marketing a certain product. Are they using a sales page, a review site, or perhaps even a comparison review site? All this info is at the tip of my fingers with PPC Bully and I use this to dtermine how I design my own landing page. This is truly powerful stuff.
To write my ad copy I never actually steal someone's ads word for word. Instead, I take a look at at several successful ads and try find the good aspects of each and incorporate that into my own ad copy. I've found by doing it this way, I can actually improve my CTR over even what my competitors are doing. This allows me to lower my costs per click and rank above my competitors for the same keywords.
All in all, I am quite happy with my PPC Bully experience. I do wish it worked with MSN Adcenter and Yahoo as well, but since Google is the major pay per click engine, I can't complain too much. I have been able to use PPC Bully to launch several successful PPC Campaigns already, and the monthly $50 fee pays for itself. You should be an active pay per click marketer though to make the monthly fee worth it. If you only launch the occassional pay per click campaign, you may want to try something like Traffic Travis first. But if you want to get hardcore into pay per click advertising, then PPC Bully is definitely a worthwhile investment.
PPC Bully 2.0
You may have seen the hype surrounding the new PPC Bully 2.0 which is set to launch on June 9th. I've been watching the pre-launch videos and it looks pretty cool. It looks like it will have a lot of the capabilities of Google Cash Detective 2, which I personally wanted to try myself, but was too late to get in before it closed.
One drawback of the current PPC Bully is that you have to spend two weeks or so scanning the keywords for each campaign you are planning to run. With PPC Bully 2, you don't actually have to scan things yourself, but instead you search the PPC Bully database which contains already scanned data.
This means you can find a particular product in Clickbank, and search for that clickbank product name in the destination url of every ad in the PPC Bully 2 database. Now you can INSTANTLY figure out the PI of every matching ad and quickly find the profitable ones. No keyword research needed, and no time waiting for a scan. Can you see the potential here? This is not just limited to Clickbank products either. If you are a part of any CPA networks or a large network like Commission Junction, you know that they each have their own unique tracking urls. With this search capability, you can see how easy it is to find profitable campaigns across a huge number of products.
Anyway, you should definitely watch the PPC Bully 2 Pre-Launch videos and read the FREE PPC Bully Blueprint yourself to see what I am talking about. It really is quite cool, and I eagerly waiting for the June 9th launch so I can try it out myself.

I agree that PPC Bully 2 is expensive. Still for some PPC marketers it will be worth it. And for others, it won't. It's definitely not for newbies.
