PPC is one of the most cost-effective ways of advertising to your target market on the internet.

PPC - Pay- Per- Click, according to Forbes magazine accounted for 2 billion dollars in 2007 and was expected to account for 8 billion dollars at the end of 2008.

This is a basic overview of how PPC Search Engines work. Search engines create listings. Next, they rate them based on a bid from the website owner. This is the amount the website owner is willing to pay for each click from that search engine. Next, the advertisers bid against one another to receive a higher ranking for a specific keyword or phrase.

PPC Search Engines rank the #1 site based on the highest bidder for a certain keyword or phrase. This is followed by the 2nd and 3rd highest bidder for that keyword or phrase. The ranking will continue until all bids on the same keyword or phrase have been ranked.

Then your ads will appear on the result page. The listing on the result page is based on the dollar amount you bided and agreed to pay per click.

The question most people ask is... how do you make money using PPC. This is an important subject that is complicated so it is better to keep it short and narrow it down to a few key points. You get highly targeted traffic which in turn can result in a high volume of sales quickly when you use PPC. For example, if on your website you sell e-books that teach people how to succeed in MLM ....you could bid on MLM help. Someone searching would type MLM help into the search engine and your site will pop up offering the exact product the person is looking for. This is targeted traffic and fast sales.

Another type of marketing is cost per action-CPA marketing. A company like IKEA usually pays people to drive traffic to their website. For example, IKEA may be giving away a free seat cushion to each person that visits their site and enters their name and e-mail address. In return, IKEA pays you $3 for each name and e-mail that is entered through your affiliate link. To drive traffic to Ilea's website you would use PPC. To do this you bid on a phrase like IKEA seat cushion...someone searches for it and your ad pops up. They click on your ad-you are charged for the click. However, remember when they enter their name and e-mail address on Ikeas page IKEA pays you $3. You have made a profit.

Keep in mind that the whole process above has been simplified. PPC can be tricky and can cost you a lot of money if have not had the proper training. Before starting PPC it is in your best interest to get step-by-step training and key advice fromexperts because they know the game. Another alternative is outsourcing even though it might seem costly, if you have not mastered PPC it is worth it. Some outsourcing companies offer free or low cost trials that are usually 2 or 4 weeks. This is the perfect time to study exactly what they are doing. Learning from the experts is a highly effective way to master PPC. When you finally have learned and become proficient it is an incredibly fast and highly effective method to generate income.

Recently 250 people worldwide were selected for a beta test for Mike Dillard's PPC training product. It is a comprehensive program and works well. Once it is available to the public it is something you should consider if PPC is an area you want to master.
