I'm confuzed, was Palin really worried about witches? Witches? She needs protection from Witches??

I have to confess, among all my worries on the planet, from being the talking eyes for my blind mom, helping my dad with her care, from raising dozens of foster kids, to my own onery sons, to my husband's law enforcement career, to my jobs and college endeavors, to losing my home to fire, and nearly my life to an emergency surgery, I certainly had my share of worries over the last #% years.

I worried about a lot of things; probably met my share of devils. I know they exist. Maybe witches do too, I'm beginning to wonder.

Still, other than a black cat I met about 34 years ago who tried to take up homesteading on my front porch, I don't think I've ever worried about a witch. Have you? Maybe there are more people worrying about witches than I think; I've led a pretty interesting and sometimes scarey life, but I've never run into a personal or professional need to worry about a witch.

Now, if you start the word with another letter, say for instance a "b," I've probably worried about some of those. Maybe I've missed something, not having to worry about a witch, so all of you vampire lovers and those bewitched with a witch maybe can understand Palin better than I.

I don't particularly care one way or the other, if she worries about witches. If she felt better about having this Pastor do whatever it was he did to protect her, well, so-be-it, to each her own "witch-dumb." But, didn't the sound of that man's voice remind you just slightly of a demon possessed? It was just too dramatic for me, almost like an exorcist with a dash of wigi; I sure didn't get a sacred feeling.

It's just when you add it to all the versions she's given about trooper-gate, downright lies, the investigation she will cooperate and then won't cooperate in, the misstatements, the "non-functioning" tell-a-monitors that weren't, the wacky interviews and incoherency, the never-met-a-head-of-state that she didn't like because she didn't know, the "I don't know about any regulatory bills passed by McCain but I'll look some up and send them to ya" kind of intelligence from the would be VP, the possible witness tampering, it all leads this average American on the ground to become just a bit bewildered.

I like giving people the benefit of the doubt, so it says a lot about her, when I can't muster up the doubt.

I hear people saying "Oh, I'm sure she's a nice person..." Really? I don't think so. A nice person doesn't take on a personal mission and use their powers of office to investigate a matter in which they have a personal relationship and investment. End of that story. It's not ethical, and in many circumstances, not legal.

A nice person with nothing to hide doesn't "not cooperate" (sorry for the double negative) in a NON-PARTISAN PROBE. A nice person doesn't lie about tell-a-monitors not working when they did. A nice person doesn't continue to lie when they've been discovered about the first 20 lies.

A nice person in all probability won't have cause to worry about witches.

Ok, maybe someone, somewhere would, but the chances of it happening to the person who's chosen to run for the Vice-President of the United States is just a little more than weird. God protect ME from a person who's asked for protections against a witch. Please don't put them in the White House. We can't stand the heat....

We're living in a horror movie... our prospective Vice President is a died-in-the-wool witch hunter who has never been overseas and believes the world never really had T-Rex or other big lizards running around, wants to legislate teaching 'creation science' instead of or along side real science in public schools, wants the government to tell mothers what to do about being pregnant, builds roads to nowhere with public money and brags that they she didn't use the money to build a BRIDGE at the end of it, to nowhere...

Our economy is suddenly and conveniently (for the losing Republicans) faced with an election-delaying depression, and on and on it goes.

Where did all this come from? I'm beginning to think I'm asleep and that this is some kind of nightmare.

Will someone scratch me or pinch me... hard?

I think I'm in the same hellish nightmare that level1diet is in, but on a side note, I would like to say that I know I am a nice person. I'm a nice person, but I still need protection from warlocks....I have a magical warding off stick for witches. LMAO The truth that it is so utterly easy to make a mockery of a vice presidential candidate should be reason enough NOT to vote for an old, cheating man with one foot in the grave/witch fearing, lying, brother-in-law hating, book banning moose eater ticket...I mean a McCain/Palin ticket.

If I am elected V.P of the United stae of America, I promise I will kill the president, ban Haloween (that bitch better not its my favorite holdiay). I will personally press the easy botton, if you don't mind.

I promise I will give all your money to the congregation if you promise to take the lord Jesus Christ as your savior. I will let you have energy if you promise to go to war.

I could go on but I might get in trouble. Oh, and the tv thingys not working, yeah that tripped me out. My first thought was, She is the Devil. OMG.

I am always at a loss for words when someone "out-Christians" me, telling me that I'm not the "right kind of Christian" because I differ in what I believe as opposed to what someone else believes.

In Spain I had a close encounter with Brother Eddie, a very fundamentalist Christian, who had the gall to tell me that the only people going to Heaven were the congregants of his church! All 57 or so of them! If that is so, then Heaven will be a very lonely place, I'm afraid!

I have no idea if witches, as viewed in movies and popluar literature, exist. I do know that I have seen paintings where alleged witches were burned alive. They were most likely just old men and women - mostly women - who had once done something to anger someone else, and were then accused of being witches.

I can also say that most of the people killed (Murdered, actually) as witches were not evil, Satanic worshippers. But people need someone to hate in order to make them feel better about themselves, so I guess this year it'll have to be witches, once more.

I also know that the pastor who filled her head with fear of witches was active in Africa killing old women people claimed were witches. No proof, no trial, just an accusation. Now that's justice!

I can only pray for the time when we use our reason and our brains instead of our "gut feelings" to see the world around us. If you believe in God, then you know all too well that God gave us brains for thinking new thoughts, and guts for getting rid of the trash.

Witch talk, such as from this Pastor, whom I do not know but can detect trash and fear/hate mongers when I hear them, is very dangerous thinking. It's ridiculous and shallow, but will fool some people. The fact that Palin felt it necessary to participate in such a "ritual" as one that would protect her in this manner from whatever witchcraft she was bothered about, should "bother" any real thinking person.

I shudder at her nomination to even run for the honorable office of VP of the United States. The poor woman needs more than protection from some imaginary witch. It's so disturbing that we have to add her to our list of catastrophes - it feels as though we are watching a movie about our own implosion.

Surely, not, America!!

Even tho' I'm poking fun, it's a dramatic and scarey situation.

Palin will never be VP or McCain POTUS.

The looming economic disintegration of amerika will give dubya the perfect excuse to declare martial law and cancel the election.

So we don't have to worry about Palin the witch or McCain the undead.

ajcor, thank you for your view, it's always good to learn how others around the world see our troubles and issues. This woman is completely strange, and the more we know, the "weirder" she becomes! We don't need to add her to our problems.

We can't afford to raise Palin. =))
