I have with the Recorder DMR-EH75VS for about four weeks, and I love the quality of the image, the simple copy from HDD to DVD, and the quality of VHS transfers (recorded LP) to the HDD or DVD. This is with the unit connected to a 20-year-old Sony Trinitron TV with an RF modulator. I also have the fire wire connection to connect my Sony MiniDV camcorder recordings on DVD and it worked beautifully. I would unit 5 stars, if the manual better and if I had successfully installed the included function of the TV Guide offers. Firstly, the manual: I work as a TV presenter and I also had problems with the manual. The terminology is vague and the procedures often assume a level of knowledge that is unrealistic. The glossary should focus on the terminology problem, but not the case. I have e-mail questions to Panasonic and receive satisfactory answers, but the manual should be self-explanatory. In relation to the TV Guide offers, I have not yet received. I followed the procedure from the beginning, and the unit sought, but according to the prescribed 24 hours with the unit (I did this several times), the unit kept saying that they could not find me the offers. I had discussions with Panasonic several times, configurations have changed, then you will get the offers tried a few times (which is annoying, because I can not do everything during the record of 24 hours, it is off), and, finally, Panasonic has developed a software diagnostic systems that they are sending from the TV Guide, and she said she would be back to me. To be fair, I began when I first device with Cable Vision and Scientific Atlanta cable box, and last week I Cable and Verizon have now Fios fiber-optic TV service with a Motorola cable box. With two boxes, Panansonic had me reset the device, the settings and switch on the device for 24 hours. I still do not have offers, but I think hope.In the meantime, in between the tests for TV Guide offers, I did a lot of manual recordings directly onto DVD and directly to the hard, and I am very happy with These features. If you have problems, the establishment of a manual for the vcr recordings programmed, and you can not be the TV Guide offers, either because of the type of cable or satellite service, twice, remember that this unit because the facility manually programmed events you can be in trouble. Back comments on the remote control and the menus are ligitimate. It takes a little getting used to, but if you are not just a techno-phobe it should not be a problem. Loszuwerden, advertising can be lengthy, but once again, if, as it happened, it is no big deal. Although Panasonic free help was online and by phone, the technician, I have dealt with have ranged from very good to not so much. Finally, after all the problems with the offer and the handbook, why not me this device is a lower rating? The reasons for this are, because the quality of the image is really fabulous, the ability to record to a hard disk and delete commercials, and on a program that has already begun and watch from the beginning, while the machine tapes the whole show is really great and I am always a big kick, and I love that I can do all this without paying a monthly fee.So, even if I never get the offers because they are not available with my service, I am still happy with And the device is either manually or attempt shots with the VCR option. When I finally do to the TV Guide offers, I write a supplement to this post, but overall the DMR-EH57VS is a really good device.
