Mega pixels are raining these days on digital cameras and vendors are busy churning out modest cameras with high mega pixel ratings. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28k is the recent addition which offers 10 mega pixels at a hefty price tag. The camera is basically a hybrid of compactness and SLR features.
Zoom offered in the camera is 18x Lexica and wide angle of 28mm is also made possible. Auto Focus tracking is implemented which enables the end user to just point and shoot at a moving object. It is intelligent enough to focus on the subject and take a clean picture of it. Face Detection which seems to be finding its way in every cameras which are being released these days has made its entry in this gadget too.

The exposure is adjusted intelligently with the help of an Intelligent Auto mode. As the name suggests the inclusion of this feature enables the resultant photo to be devoid of over as well as under exposures. Red Eye Reduction which reduces the discoloration of the eyes to red is also active on the device. This is implemented in the form of two steps. Initially a pre flash is flashed so that the eyes get adjusted to the illumination and then the main flash occurs. One of the fancier features which have found its way in this camera is the elimination of camera shake phenomenon. Usually the camera gets shaken a bit, and this results in a blurred image. Using the gyro sensing technology, such shakes are eliminated to a larger extent. This has been aptly named as Mega IOS feature.

The camera supports a maximum of ISO 6400 to be selected. It is automatically varied so that under the stringiest conditions of lightning, the resultant photo looks wonderful. The LCD display which is included is a 2.7 inch 230000 pixel one. Crispy and vibrant images are the result of such a display. High Definition is also the buzzword and Lumix doesn’t let u down on that front either. Image leveling option is also provided by default. It sports a high definition recorder which is capable of recording at 1280x720p. A maximum of 30 frames per second is supported for the recording. Most of the High Definitions TVs supports a display aspect ratio of 16:9 by default.

The output of the camera is aptly 16:9, hence the time required for fiddling with the aspect ratio is also eliminated. This has been one of the top selling digital cameras ever released by Panasonic. It’s a no brainer because all such features incorporated and that too for a modest price tag is sure to flutter deep in many hearts. Working in tandem with the automatic options, the camera also provides complete manual control over the features above mentioned. The camera price varies among the different dealers and online vendors like Amazon and Ritz provide a good deal. The difference in price can be marginal but is worth well the try.
