39Panic attack Tips
Its estimated that as many as 2 to 5% of people in the USA suffer from a form of panic disorder so if your in this group you are not alone.
Symptoms include Sweating, choking, racing heart, breathlessness, racing thoughts and a feeling that your going to lose your mind.
I know it can be very unpleasant and distressing cause I've been there but I'm also here writing this now and I'm not panicing anymore.
If you do suffer from panic attacks some of the tips I've learnt might be of help to you.
1) No matter how bad your symptoms or how long you have suffered you need to remember that there is always hope for recovery. What I'm saying here is never to give up because your break through could be just around the corner. I believe that everything can be healed.
2)Do not fight your sensations of panic when they come no matter how aweful they are. Fighting whats happening just makes things worse and prolongs your suffering. Let the sensations wash over you.
3) Try not to avoid things you like doing because of panic and anxiety. Try letting your anxiety do its thing and let yourself do your thing. So if you want to go to the pub go anyway, take it a step at a time if you like but decide not to let the panic boss you around.
4) If your feeling anxious or panicky try asking yourself what your really feeling? and wait and see if an answer pops into your head. This will start to get you below the level of panic into the key driving emotion behind the attacks.
I hope you got something from the article above.
