Pantry Challenge for December!
54O.K. I just did a big inventory of what we have on hand in the freezer, fridge & pantry, and have made up a two week menu on what we have on hand. I will have to buy some milk, fruits and veggies, but plan on making bread for lunches and to go with dinners. Basically my challenge is to spend the least amount of money that I can get by with for the next two weeks for groceries. I am hoping to get away with $100 or less, less would be better! Anyone that's up for a challenge please join me!
Here is the menu that I have made up:
12/4 Homemade pizza & Salad. 12/5 Soup and sandwiches. 12/6 Birthday dinner at a friends house. 12/7 Pork Chops, potatoes, salad & bread. 12/8 French toast. 12/9 My birthday so my family will take me out to eat, but if we didn't we would be having burgers and homefries. 12/10 Spaghetti with meatballs, salad & homemade bread. 12/11 Pierogies with pork gravy, veggie & bread. 12/12 Burgers and homefries. 12/13 Leftover night! 12/14 Drunk chicken, veggie, bread and pasta salad. 12/15 Pork Chops with whatever sides we have in the pantry. 12/16 Tacos. 12/17 Leftovers!
So this should cover it. I will post my menu for 12/18 on when the time gets closer. These little pantry challenges are kinda fun! Plus you save money by doing up a menu and using what you have on hand. We are getting a turkey from work for Chirstmas, but already have a big ham in the freezer from a pig that we got this year, so I will make the turkey sometime this winter, which will feed us for several days!
So join in the pantry challenge if you like, and let me know what your making!
