Arts, Crafts and Special Paper
Arts and crafts is my passion. I love to shop around for special paper types, glues, paper accessories, embellishments and other arty things. I have come to learn over the past few years that paper has many different uses and you cannot use just any paper for any purpose. For instance, you would use one paper type for wedding invitations and another type for scrapbooking purposes. It would all depend on the task at hand.
Many a paper shop will offer you a variety of paper types and other accessories and you will probably find something of interest in other paper stores as well. The idea would be to shop around and know what local paper stores and craft stores have to offer.
If you are looking for arts, crafts and paper on a regular basis, perhaps you should look around online for a paper store or paper shop that has a catalog you can view and request samples from - this would certainly help. Be sure to make the most of your arts and crafts experience, afterall...it should be something you enjoy!

Types of paper popular for weddings:
I have found that the following paper types are growing in popularity when it comes to wedding cards, wedding invitations and other paper products used at weddings:
- Japanese papers
- Corrugated card stock (wavy yet flexible card board)
- Hand made papers
- Laid paper (this paper type has a bumpy feel to it)
- Moire (this usually has colourful water marks on it)
- Parchment (type of light weight and see-though paper)
- Vellum (cotton blend paper with a smooth finish)
While these are some of the most popular paper types, you will probably find that your unique wedding invitation may even require something else. I hope all your creativity and artistic talent shines through in your wedding invites! :)

The type of wedding paper you end up using should really be decided on by both the bride and the groom. Both being happy with the final result of the wedding invitation is very important. That being said, Exotic Thai, Japanese and Indian Papers are absolutely ideal for wedding invitations. You will find that they look and feel fabulous and generally fit into most peoples budgets.
I Love Paper.
Thank you for giving me this chance to see some excellent paper and their unique design ideas. After working in the office for so long i've become attached to the new and funky types of paper instead of the nice white reems i'm used to. Thank you for rekindling a new love for paper
Hey Dwight! That's fabulous :)
I have added some popular paper types that many people are using for their wedding invitations and other special occasions. Maybe you will like them too!
