Papi's chocolate cake
76At one point in my life, I had lost my appetit. My broken heart had devored it. One day, I decided to make a chocolate cake for my Grandpa- he loved chocolate- and needed a boost. Making that cake was part of my healing process: I was cooking something tasting "good" to make the people around me feel better. The face he made while eating it just made my day. When I took a bite of it, the intensity of that moist dark cake deeply teased all my senses. It was the beginning of my reconciliation with food, with myself. Darn it tasted goood!
So, this is my dear and precious chocolate recipe, I hope it will keep on pleasing people's taste buds for many years to come!
So, here is what you need: 250g of dark chocolate, 100g of flour, 150g of sugar, 5 eggs, 200g of salted butter. Mix the eggs and sugar in a bowl. Melt the butter on low heat and add it. Then melt the chocolate- au bain marie (place the choc in a bowl that you then place in a pan full of boiling water)or in the pan you previously used for the butter- keep on stirring to prevent it from burning. Once ready add it to the mixture, stir, add the flour, stir. Cover the baking pan with butter and fill it with the chocolate mix then stick it in the oven for 25 minutes.
I especially like butter with little cristals of salt because they bring up the sweetness of the cake. Grab a cup of coffee or a glass of milk- or a flûte de champagne and enjoy... To you my dear Angels.

Yum. sounds like a cake in my Julia Childs cookbook called "reine de saba", only richer and denser. 5 eggs--wow. I'm going to try baking this one Lili. I'll have to convert the measures to the American system--but it's gonna be worth it Iknow.
