Pardon me, Your Boxers are Showing

We've seen it countless times, teenage boys with their pants close to falling off. Most adults just wonder Why? As the parent of a teenage girl, I don't have to deal with the baggy pants issue but I do see a lot of it when I take her to school. And I've had lots of time to wonder just why on earth would they choose to wear clothes so large. And you have to wonder about it.
Traditionally kids have had to wear clothes that didn't fit simply because families were large and money was tight. Hand-me-downs got a lot of use. Now not only is bigger better but whole clothing lines have emerged.
One thing I have noticed is that for some one hand has to be holding their pants at all times. If for some reason they need to have use of 2 hands, there go the pants. Watch next time your at the Mall, these kids are becoming very talented using only one hand, They shop, pay for purchases and carry their bags using only one hand. They order, carry their food to a table and eat using only one hand (all the while carrying their bags).
Many people are for laws that ban 'sagging'. I don't remember there being a law against any type of clothing before, why now? Many think it's 'unsightly' or 'why should everyone have to look at their underwear'. What about the teenage girls that are wearing clothes so tight that if they sneeze, your wondering if major body parts will fall out? I haven't heard of any laws about that. Besides how would you, at that age, like to be told what style of clothing to wear. Yeah, I thought so. And running in a pair of these pants is very difficult, thereby making is way easier for local law enforcement to 'catch bad guys'.
Today's teenagers say that 'sagging' is a comfort issue for them. Well to that I say "to each his own". Everyone is entitled to be comfortable.
Just remember that this too shall pass as clothing trends do. New styles will emerge and the world will change with them. From Poodle skirts, bobby socks and slicked back hair, through bell bottoms, tie dyed shirts and parachute pants to baggy/saggy jeans the future of clothing trends remains to be seen. I do hope thought that there never comes a time when we will look back at this trend and think "Why can't kids dress like that anymore?"

I agree. While I don't think wearing your pants low is a cool style, I also don't think there should be a law against it. I feel that it is rather draconian and there is so much more important things to worry about than the way someone dresses.
I believe there are several states/cities that have passed or tried to pass anti-sagging laws already.
