Great-Grandpa Conrad Hilton 1887 - 1979
92,700 Photos of Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton is the great-granddaughter of hotel magnate and founding member of the 1960s Jet Set crowd, Conrad Hilton, and, as such, has no need to work as she was born rich and should have enough in her trust funds to live comfortably for the rest of her life. However, showing the same entrepreneurial spirit as her great-grandfather, she has made quite a name for herself as an actress and night club investor among other things. The real key to her new found fame is her knack for having her picture taken and staying in the news. Whether one approves of her life style or acting skills, there are very few people on planet earth who have not heard of her or seen her picture.
If you want pictures of Paris Hilton simply go to Google, type Paris Hilton into the search bar and click on the Images option. That is what I did and I got links to 92,700 photos of Paris Hilton all within slightly over one-tenth of a second. Well, actually I only got 92,699 as one turned out to be a picture of Vice President Dick Cheney that had been mislabled as Paris Hilton.
In ancient times Helen of Troy's beauty was so great that the ancient poet Homer described her as having The face that launched a thousand ships. Will Paris Hilton some day be known as the face (or body) that generated 100,000 Google links?
I had better close before my wife questions why I am scrolling through 92,700 photos of Paris Hilton.

Awesome! Where did you learn that?
Good post! I found it intresting!
Thanks! It gave me something to think about!
Nice trick.
I was wondering how this one fit in after reading some of your other hubs. How are the traffic numbers are for this one :)
Hub Llama - Thanks for visiting and commenting.
This Hub was written as an entry in a contest run by HubPages in 2006. As I have mentioned in some of my Hubs (such as http://hubpages.com/hub/How_to_Continue_Winning_Wi ) about writing for HubPages one of the benefits of participating in HubPages' periodic contests or answering replies is the challenge of coming up with a good piece of writing and still staying within the rules/guidelines of the contest or request. I think taking on challenges like this do help to improve and broaden one's writing.
While I have never paid too much attention to Paris Hilton and have never been impressed by her antics in the press, in researching her before writing this I did come to admire and respect her in a way. Like many heiresses she could spend her life shopping and partying thanks to the family fortune she shares. While she does this for publicity, she has also proved to be a hard worker and sharp business woman who has proved to have the same entrepreneurial spirit as her great-grandfather as well as the same tendency/longing for negative publicity as her great-grandfather.
As to revenue, this one, like my other ones on this topic from that contest (http://hubpages.com/hub/Britney_Spears_bikini_phot and http://hubpages.com/hub/Elin_Nordegren_photos ), is about average in terms of daily revenue but the traffic and revenue for each of these Hubs goes up whenever the subject of the Hub is in the news.
Also, while I don't have the data to prove it, I think Hubs like this tend to be better revenue generators in some ways than the more serious ones which generate good traffic and comments, because I suspect the people landing on these Hubs are surfers who go from site to site by clicking on the ads. In the case of the Elin_Nordegren Hub, I saw this shoot to number four on the Yahoo Search results and generated a little over $100 on a single Saturday (it averages less than a dollar a day normally and jumps as high as $10 or $15 a day when there is a big news story) in December 2008.
It appeared that some rumor apparently hit Yahoo that there were nude photos of her in the Internet. The photos didn't exist but there had been some fake ones that were forcefully removed following her winning a big lawsuit against the perpetrators a year earlier.
My guess is that people typed her name and the words "nude photos" without using quotation marks in the search bar so the search results came back with every article that had one or more of the search words. Of course, my Hub had both her name and the word "photos" so it came up very high.
I suspect that as soon as people landed on my Hub they saw it wasn't what they were looking for and immediately clicked on the nearest ad promising photos. This was a one day event and the frenzy ended that night and this Hub went back to generating less than a dollar a day.
I now joke with friends that I probably make more money from Hubs that people don't read than the ones that they do read.
Thanks again for you comment.

Paris Hilton sure has made a name for herself. Of course her last name gives her a lot of advantage. But how many super rich heirs are out there which no one has heard of. Whether you agree with Paris lifestyle or not, she sure knows how to get her picture taken. The PR people always say, no news is bad news.
