Park benches are such a timeless seating arrangement. They never go out of style! Most people I know would love to have one set up on their front porch on in their yard. As a matter of fact, I had a co-worker once tell me that she liked the city park benches so much that she wanted to go in the middle of the night and just take one! Well, that would be wrong of course and it's a good thing they're chained down! But it goes to show you the lengths some people will take to get a park bench they like.

Putting a park bench on your property is like putting up a welcome sign. It invites guests to sit down awhile and enjoy the view. Put your legs up, relax and have a little chat! Passerby's will look at your home as though someone really takes good care of this place. There is a certain pride of ownership that a house with a park bench evokes. It shows you love your space and want to enjoy it. You want to make it pretty, calm and reflective.

Places to put your Park Bench

Here are some places you may like to have a park bench set up around your property. On your front porch, back porch, in a little front flower garden by your front walkway. Or maybe out by the mailbox. You could set one up under an apple tree in your back yard, or on a hill overlooking your vegetable garden. In our prior house, we had one on our front verandah. Of course, you can also put a park bench indoors. A front hallway or entranceway to the front door is a great place. It is not only pleasant to look at, but also functional. It provides a place for people to put on their boots or shoes. Gather their belongings together before heading out for a walk.

Park Bench Styles and Materials

Park benches come in all sorts of styles. You can get traditional ornate ones with scrolls along the sides or very plain modern ones with flat sides. Of course you can also get park benches with no backs on them. It can simply be a bench seat but act as a park bench as well.
Materials that are used for park benches range from wrought iron to wooden to plastic. Although plastic park benches are much cheaper, I would recommend going with a nice wrought iron or wooden one. They simply last longer and look much more beautiful than a cheap plastic one.
