The South Korean midfielder is rated as being one of the hottest players in world football, Park is currently the first choice captain for South Korea's national team and is an increasingly important member of Sir Alex Ferguson's mighty Manchester United,

Park Ji-Sung was born in South Korea's capital Seoul (25 February 1981) however he was raised in the city of Suwon which is situated 30 kilometres south of the capital, Due to his small size Park was over looked by many professional teams and played on his high school team before playing for Myongji University side, Park Ji-Sung's lucky break came when he signed for Japanese division 2 side Kyoto Purple Sanga (2000), Park helped guide the team back in to the first division (2001) and in the following season they won the Emperor's Cup (2002) which was the first time in the clubs history,

After a successful 2002 World Cup campaign for South Korea Park followed the national coach (Guss Hiddink) when he left for Dutch side PSV Eindhoven(2003), At first Park struggled to get regular football as he suffered injuries however it was not long before he managed to adapt to the European style of play, During the 2004-05 season the departure of Arjen Robben to Chelsea saw park getting regular first team football, Before long Park formed the backbone of PSV Eindhoven'midfield play with his fast pace and precision passing, Park became a hero and the PSV fans dedicated a song about him titled "Song for Park" which was included on the PSV official album,

In June 2005 Park was offered a contract with Manchester United after Sir Alex Furguson had Park watched more than 20 times, before finally making an offer of £4millon for him, While at Manchester United Park has won many different titles and has become the first Asian to captain Manchester United, The first Korean to win the Premier League as well as the only Korean player to win the UEFA Champions League, And the first Asian player to play in the final of the tournament, Last season (2008-09) was a very good season for Park and he is likely to play a major part in United's quest for silverware in the 2009-10 season.
