Part 4, Conclusion
53Well, here we are. This town is only 1 mile square, so it doesn't take long to go through it.
So many changes,,,the old high school is closed, the 'boat club' by the bay now is home to the new high school and million dollar condos on the water. So many old, wonderful trees that lined our streets removed,,,,giving the town a rather 'sterile' look. The old railroad trestle gone,,,,,
We stop and get out at our old high school, walk up the steps and peer in the windows. Still as we remember, desks, etc. Walking by the auditorium doors, recalling the dances, our favorite place to be back then. Recollecting teacher's names,,,
He had suggested to me prior to meeting to bring a camera. Well, I didn't, and he couldn't find his, so we were camera-less. He had wanted us to sit or stand on the steps and grab some passer-by and ask them to take our picture, as he would like to post it in our Classmates website. That would have been so neat, but hey,,,a good excuse to get together again :)
So, we left there and drove down to the bay, to the new park that's there by the water. We sat there and talked for probably another hour and finally he said it was time to get back.
I did not want it to end. He was so very nice looking, so very sweet, and oh, so funny! The greatest sense of humor,,,and he could tell you stories that just made you laugh out loud. When he smiled, his whole face lit up, and he has the most incredible blue eyes,,,charming crinkles by his eyes, wonderful laugh lines,,,,,
So, back to my first title, fun conversations,,,,why, I ask myself, was I not attracted to him in highschool? Why did I always seem to go for the 'wilder' type? The 'Jimmy Dean' type? who's to say, but I did,,,
So, we parted ways, with a peck on the cheek, and he said he had a great time and we'd have to do it again. My heart smiled :)
On my way home, so many thoughts,,,,,WHY didn't we hook up? How different would my life have been? And please, I am not saying I regret my choice in marriage, I had a good marriage and have two wonderful children. But, sometimes, you just 'wonder',,,,,

I just thought of something....part of his attraction now...is his life experiences....he didn't have them then...soooo he's a different person in some ways - ways that attract you now....
this is like watching a movie...reality internet hahaha good luck, I'm hooked....marisue
Thanks Marisue,,,,,
You're probably right (as I always find you to be),,,and we really didn't share lots of conversations in school, so maybe the attraction is the man he's become,,,whatever it is, I'm along for the ride, wherever it goes,,,
Patty :)
Patty, you had us all in suspense from Part 1. Nice series of hubs.
Marisue, Patty is so the cool person to hang with, and you are hangin'!
What will happen now?
Thanks Sally,,,I just hope it wasn't too boring a read.
BTW Marisue, reality internet, hah! too funny!
Sally, what will happen now? I am not sure, but am thinking at the very least, someone nice to do things with, or just enjoy long conversations. You will like him, I'm positive :)
Great story-telling! I went to my 40th HS reunion 1 1/2 years ago, and I hadn't been to any of the previous reunions. I went to a small school, but still, even we had our cliques - the jocks, the college prep brains, etc.. Except I wasn't in any kind of clique except maybe "the one for all the other people". But at the reunion, I spent most of the time talking with the jock! It was weird because I don't think we ever talked when we were IN high school!
How time changes things!
Hi blush,
I hear ya! I think our graduating class had only 60 kids total LOL,,,,,,,
Time is a funny thing,,,sometimes it changes everything, other times, some things never change.
Thanks for writing,
Patty
OK Patty, I'm tuning back in to Reality Internet Channel...and I need more info....what's happening with the re-connection? don't keep us in suspense! we need more more more.... Marisue

Hi Marisue,
Living vicariously through me are ya? LOL,,,,,,IF anything comes of this I'll make sure you're the first to know LOL,,,,,
Thanks for caring :)
Patty

Walkin' down memory lane...eh? well, it's good for us....we all have wonderings about wudda cudda shudda.....though I think it's a little dangerous to delve too deep because then we start to create regrets and what ifs....
take life as it comes...and this is a gift I think...enjoy it...and it will go where it needs to go....
I think you're going to be fine.
