Past and Future Embrace
49Look up over snowy peaks, gaze drifts down
accepting, cherishing past ascension.
Triumphs, lessons, losses trailing behind.
Sundappled face turns, eyes looking upward
Climbing, searching, a longing unsurpassed.
The summit towering skyward looks back.
Desirous summit, misted convergence
of life long quest taken in steps of days,
months, years. Fabled peak of understanding,
where ago and to come clearly allay.
Sundappled face bends back, aching for light,
shadow engulfs the path. Rubble crusted,
boulder strewn, injurious, treacherous path.
No map given, not chart nor portrayal,
Deviousness contrives to befuddle
innocent, unsophisticated waifs.
Sundappled face now enshadowed kens truth.
Innocence and unsophistication,
bartered for heart, courage, perseverance
amidst conception and current ascent.
Moving, climbing, forward, onward, upward,
unceasing quest till summit encompassed.
The summit where past and future embrace.
Uplift shadowed face, suddenly sun sheened
contemplating eyes seek before, behind.
Legion’s arteries grooving lost amongst
boulders. Conduits to failure save one.
Discernment, clarity reveal rightness.
Deciphered, a passage disentangles,
exonerated, redeemed from chaos.
Shadowed face rouses, hope flares, mist surrounds.
Will summit abscond? Ebullient advance
consorts with effort. Summit, sweet, summit
craved, coveted, destined, attainable.
Mist lowering, sun glowing, heart thawing.
Shadowed face fully illuminated.
Perception renewed. Clarion future
resonates with past. Crescendo, climax
hope found achieved. Desire the future,
perceive the past. Past and future embrace.

Very nice imagery, K@ri. Indeed it does seem a path we all tread alone, though on the way one encounters many.
Where did you take these photos? The mountain peaks are distinctive. I live in the Rockies :). Interesting poem. Thanks.

shamel, wordy, yes, well-crafted? Thank you! My head may explode if you compare me to Shakespeare...you are much, much too kind!
Tom, Coming from someone like you that means tons! We all travel that path, but occasionally we have to go it alone. :D
Thanks storyteller, I wish I could claim them, but..alas...they come from Photobucket! The Rockies are beautiful...I've been to them when I lived in New Mexico.
LOL, Thanks ralwus! A mouthful is true, show-off? It will never be as good as your stuff, but thanks for making me feel good! :D Your comment echos my thoughts. Past and future must reconcile to make a good present. You are a very wise man ralwus!

I really meant what I said K@ri! You are one of the few poets that I enjoy reading. Others like Randy B for instance mesmerises me, and you make me fringe at the words threshold :) have a nice day.
Shamel

K@ri....For the Love of God, trust me when i say you are very talented in letting it all flow and take over our hearts and souls. I really love the imagery and the images posted as well. Each line has its unique image and feeling that collaborate to make this piece very memorable. "Shadowed face rouses, hope flares, mist surrounds." This is one of my favorite lines. Thumbz up!!

Uriel, Coming from a true poet, that really means so much to me! :D I loved that line myself...so true of my life at the moment. I really feel good after reading your comment! Thank you so much!!

You have a very creative imagination and a brilliant view of the mountains. Sounds like somebody's been doing some rock climbing.
Thanks May! I used to climb more mountains than I do recently...I just love getting to the top!
k@ri
They say it's not whether we reach the peak or not, it's the climb that matters. Great work here, it's so alive and dynamic - always on the move. And the pictures enhance the moment! Cool! Thanks for sharing :D
