These days, wrought iron is the material of choice for patio furniture. It has been popularly used in doorways, fences, and other home furnishings. Wrought iron artwork has been around for millennia.

But one misconception about patio wrought iron is that it's easily corrosive. What makes wrought iron less susceptible? Compared with cast iron, wrought iron has more impurities removed - it is the ideal metal to work with. In fact, to easily remove any traces of rust that might form, one can use turpentine or kerosene to wipe these away.

Patio wrought iron furniture comes in other colors besides black. There is forest green and white as well. And today's wrought iron is usually powder coated, as in the same way as aluminum is which makes the metal more durable.
