Paul Blart-Mall Cop and 12 GREAT songs
68You've Got To See The Movie!
It's great! But I'm not here to review the movie itself. I'll just tell you that it will be worth the time and money to see it. Here...check it out for yourself...
It's the Music
I laughed through the whole movie. But my hubby's hardest laugh came when I whispered that I wanted the soundtrack. I was serious.
Here's the lineup:
Take It On The Run - REO Speedwagon
Runaway - Bon Jovi
Mr. Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra
Weekend In New England - Barry Manilow (Yes, this is where the laugh originated)
Detroit Rock City - KISS
I Can't Hold Back - Survivor
Carribean Sea - John Costello
Frankenstein - The Edgar Winter Group
Think I'm In Love - Eddie Money
My Bubble Gum - Rasheeda (This is NOT my type of music, but considering the application of the song in the movie, it's very funny)
Turn Up The Music - Jessica Ferguson
Parade of Champions - Patriotic Fathers
Sadly, My 80's Hair Looked Just Like Jon's....
Not My Favorite Video.....
This is Where He SHOULD Have Laughed...
Can't Publish Nasty
I just couldn't bring myself to link the Bubble Gum song. If my kids can't watch it, I can't publish it. So, if you're that interested, youtube it. It's Paul's ringtone, and in that scenario--it's very funny.
Some of the others I wasn't able to locate video for, so, you'll have to either watch the movie or pray there's a soundtrack out soon!!!!!

You have to think corny is funny, and I do!!!
Let me know what you think!
It looks hilarious! Love the music too! Thanks for sharing PM!
Well, it's no DONNIE OSMOND..... :-))))
No, but I was looking at another hub tonight before Lady G wrote hers and it had a link to the "White and Nerdy" Weird Al video that has Donny dancing in it. That was hilarious as well. I've had a few good chuckles tonight.
You doing ok?
Outstanding!! Been celebrating great news all week. Still planning a party, though.
You might not believe this, but I didn't know Weird Al made a song called "White and Nerdy"! I'm going to have to check it out.
Laughter is good for the soul, and the Bee Gee's outfits and 70's Donny are good for a few of those chuckles. But then, so is the fact that, as mentioned in the hub, my hair looked just like Jon Bon Jovi's a few years back..... :-))
Glad to hear it, PM!
I can't believe you haven't watched "White and Nerdy"! It's a must.
Blart reminds me of some of the comedic moves of the late great John Belushi in "Animal House".
This looks like my kind of movie and the soundtrack is cool...except the barry manilow.
yeah...no Barry Manilow unless ofcourse he's singing " MANDY"!! or " The Copa..Copa Cabana" ;P
It's Pest all cleaned up! I never knew he was a movie star! Thanks PM.
I was never allowed to watch Animal House as a kid, and I've never gotten around to it since! So there's TWO things I'm behind on! I'll get right on that, k@ri!
Hey, GT! The Barry Manilow was okay, but the Frankenstein was a little much....
See, jjrubio--I just can't get into Copa. I don't know why!
Pest all cleaned up!! LOL!! Maybe he can get his tractor out of hock, now!!
PM-- Glad to hear there are are bright and happy things everywhere for you. My oldest has been wanting to see Mall Cop; I was going to make my husband take him, but maybe I will now.
Oh definitely go, Lelah!!! You need to laugh.
Proud Mom, Can I take my 12 year old son? If you like it that's good enough for me!
k@ri-- I would say yes!! I took a 12 year old and a younger one. I don't remember any foul language, and there was no sex at all. I really do think it's a great family movie!!!!
But please don't hold it against me if you end up not liking it!!!!
Sounds hilarious, PM, but I'll wait for the DVD. Refuse to pay the big bucks for a movie with Barry Manilow songs. Bad enough living in a town with - I kid you not! - a pocket park sponsored and maintained by the local BM fan club, and it says so on a big sign where ya can't miss it driving by. They live among us! Ewwww.....
They do indeed live among us. We like to go on Tuesday nights when all tickets are $2. A movie just ain't a movie with out theatre popcorn. Orville just can't get it right.
I'll admit, though, that I do enjoy some of Barry's stuff--yes, Kenny G, too. I like to think of myself as "eclectic"--80s hair bands (I sang in a 'metal' band for a very short time in High School), almost ANY country music from the 70s to the present--(but it has to be REAL country music--I don't like pop in my country), and Christian music. Recently, my Point Of Grace CD got replaced with SpongeBob Squarepants, but I'm dealing....
They do realize that most people associate the intials "BM" with something other than their idol, don't they?
I would never hold it against you, we like corny also!
Well, it's no evil dog or anything..... :-))))
I really do think you will enjoy it!!! I'd love to hear what you think of it!
Nice hub! I love this movie - I actually took 12 kids to see it for my kids' combined birthday party. I thought I was the only one who wanted the soundtrack! I laughed harder at the funny scenes because of music choice than I did at the scenes themselves! Nothing can go wrong when you put a corny comedy together with 80's rock ballads! Nothing!
I agree wholeheartedly, Amy!! I can't think of any other setting that I'd be entertained by the Bubble Gum song.
k@ri-- you're probably wondering what I was talking about with the dog thing, huh? Sorry about that--I realize now it was Lelah who wanted to pull that prank!
