Pay Yourself First

It's a great concept isn't it: Pay yourself first. It seems almost impossible when you don't have any money to spare, though. But I truly believe if you want the Law of Attraction to work for you, especially if you want and need more money, it's a necessity.

This is my first-hand experience with the concept:

I first heard this insight many years ago when I was struggling to get an MLM opportunity up and running. I eventually failed with the opportunity because I was not suited to the product being sold. I didn't believe, in other words, and I find it hard to be insincere. One good thing did come from it, though; I went to a seminar called "You Were Born Rich" by Bob Proctor. You may have heard of the man since he is one of the people behind "The Secret".

Anyway, at the time I tried to initiate his concepts, but like most of these things, I think I needed to do it in my own time. Years later, I finally see how it works.

I"m not going to kid anyone here and say that I'm rich right now, because I'm not. At least as far as money is a measure for wealth. It's one measure, but not the only one. I'm struggling for cash at the moment, and it's all my own doing and my own thoughts have caused the actions that led to this state. But, still every now and again I think about the pay yourself concept. For some reason it is lodged in my mind.

The other night I was reading a book called "A Happy Pocket Full of Money", which is about the Law of Attraction and how it works. I was reading the section on physics and it the thought about paying yourself first popped into my head, and I don't even know why. A coincidence, maybe? But, then, I don't believe in coincidences.

There had been another thought playing on my mind all week: I needed $60 for Christmas presents. That's the amount the family spends on each other -- we allow one present, and it's a Kris Kringle affair. I had no idea where I was going to get the money from. But there was the 'pay yourself' thought, as well. How could I afford to do that if I couldn't afford the money for presents?

It turns out I could. I got an empty glass Moccona jar, and decided that was my 'pay jar' and in it I would put some money, every day, even if it was only 5 cents. I went to get a notebook and as I pulled it out of the bookshelf where I had it stored, $2 fell out of the bookcase from where it I had put it, safely tucked inside the very edge of the bookcase. So, I paid myself with that. My first contribution to the jar.

Satisfied that I had started I didn't give it another thought until the next day.

Unexpected Money

I got up that morning and added 5 cents to the jar, which was all I had to spare, and then didn't give it another thought. That was until I went to get the mail. There were the usual bills and a bank statement, as well as three unmarked envelopes. Curiously, I opened them.

Inside each one was a gift certificate for $20, which was redeemable at a series of major chain stores. That adds up to $60 -- the exact amount I needed. They had come from an online survey company, the only one I kept up with, and one whom I was certain didn't owe me anything at the time. Another coincidence. One too many, in my opinion. What are the chances of getting the exact amount I needed? Then I remembered the jar, and the concept of paying myself first. It was a lightbulb moment, complete with sparkly lights.

If you are struggling for money, the first thing you need to know is that you are worth something yourself. Paying yourself first is acknowledging your own value, even if the payment is small it's symbolic.

Give it a try, and make sure you have a sum in mind. I'm hoping for my next coincidence very soon.

I never used the law of attraction to manifres anything. like with deliberate creation.

I never deliberatly created anything. Why does all negative things just fall into place but the positive things you need to really work on?

I'm a second class citizen by nature of living the way I live .Living a normal life.

To change my life style you say I need to change my thoughts,

I don't need to change my thoughts to get what I now have.
