Payday Loans - What Do People Want to Know?

As more and more Americans need help with emergency cash needs, more and more folks are forced to rely on payday loans to help with emergencies. Here are a just a few of the most frequently asked questions that people ask. And even better, here are a few answers to those questions! If you have more questions, please ask one in the comments section below, and we will do our best to answer them!

Is faxing required?

  • The short answer is: "usually not (but it depends on the lender). Here's some background. Lots of web sites advertise "Nothing to Fax Payday Loans". What does that mean? Well, in the past, when you applied for a payday loan or cash advance on the Internet, you were often required to print and fax a few documents to the lender so they could determine whether you were who you said you were and whether you could afford the loan. For example, lenders would ask for you to fax a copy of your drivers license and one or two recent bank statements. Then, as technology got better, lenders were able to check your identity electronically (by consulting databases and other systems) and to confirm that your bank account was open and in good standing. As a result, in the last few years, nothing to fax payday loans are now available, making it easier for folks to get emergency cash when they need it.

How can I get a loan for more than $300?

  • How is it possible that a borrower could get a payday loan for $1000 or even more? Most States have limits on the dollar amount that can be loaned in a payday loan. Those limits are usually lower than $1000. But there are plenty of lenders on the Internet who offer loans of $1000 or more. How do they do it? It depends on the lender. Some lenders may be based in jurisdictions that don't have limits on the size of payday loans. Other lenders may offer a product in partnership with a federal bank (allowing the lender to use the laws of the State that the bank is based in). If you are looking for payday loans for 1000, we recommend that you read the loan agreement carefully to make sure you understand how the lender is able to offer such a large loan amount. Also, if you have questions, do not hesitate to call the lender before you sign the loan agreement. Some of the lenders in our network may offer payday loans for 1000. Fill out the application form today, and review the loan terms for the lender that you are matched with.

How can I get a loan in a State that doesn't allow payday loans?

  • This is an interesting question, and doesn't have a real clear answer other than "it depends". For example, the State of New York is one of several States in the US that does not allow payday lending. There are, however, several lenders who claim to be able to provide payday loans to residents of New York State. They may be able to do this by partnering with a federal bank or by being based outside the US. There are several lenders that you may be able to find using a loan broker network that may be able to help you if you are looking for payday loans in New York State. As always, read the loan agreement carefully before agreeing to a loan.

  • Status of Military Payday Loans – 2 Years After Ban

Two years ago, Congress passed the Military Lending Act, which included a number of provisions effectively banning payday loans to American Service Members. So how has the law faired? It looks like it is working.  Even the Consumer Federation of America (a vocal detractor of payday loans) agrees that the Military Lending ...

Good start of this Hub. I think a payday loan can be useful for people with a short term need for cash as long as they are aware of the cost if they cannot pay back in time.

Pay day loans do help out some people. They need cash quick and it provides them a means to get it. As long as they can pay it back in the alloted time it is quite a good option.
