To apply online for employment with Payless Shoes, first you must go to their web page. Look at the bottom of the page for the word “careers”. The next page that loads will have the company’s mission statement at the bottom of the page. Read the mission statement and click the “enter site” option. The next page will have a short statement on how it an exciting time to join Payless Shoes, and after the statement there will be an “apply now” option. Click the “apply now” option.

You will then see all the job openings that Payless Shoes has listed in the last week. Find the one that is closest to you or the one that you are most interested in, and click on the listing itself. A page describing the type of work you will bee doing if you are hired will then be on display. It will also have a list of requirements for that particular job. Click the “apply now” option at the bottom of the page.

The next page to display will be asking you to sign in or register. If you haven’t done so already, click the “register now” button. All that is required to register is a username and a password. Make up a username and a password, and click the “register” button.

The next page gives you three options. They are “Upload a resume; apply without using a resume, and copy and paste resume text.” Uploading a resume is up to you, but it will increase your chance of being hired if you do choose to upload one. If you choose to upload a resume, you will be taken to a page where you can upload it and continue. If you choose to not upload a resume, the main part of the application will begin after you click the continue option.

This page asks for you name, address, and contact information. Remember to capitalize the first letters of you first, middle and last name, as well as your address. Once you are finished, click the “save” button.

The next page will ask you which location you want to work at, and what days you wish to work. Fill in this information of the application, and take a look at the blue lettering on the page. These are asking you for your employment history, and your education level as well as any second languages you may know. When you click on the blue lettering you will be taken to pages where you can fill in this information, and then return to this page. If any of the blue lettering requests do not apply to you, don’t worry about them.

When you go on to the next page, you will see more blue lettering that asks you to provide references. After you do this with your online job application you will be taken back to this page where you will see a short box that will give a list of options for you to tell them how you found out about the job. Choose the appropriate answer and then click the “next” button.

You are now on the last page. It asks you a few questions, like “Have you ever worked for Payless Shoes before?” and “Have you ever been convicted of a felony?” Answer these questions honestly, and then submit your online job application. Give the company a follow up call the day after you submit the job application, and try to set up an interview.
