The Peace War Philosophy and Theory

Finding a place to start.
Dumb Luck
- Wouldn't it be great, if finding a way to universal peace was as easy as saying the words? You'd think that after all this time, after 10,000 years of people saying those words, we would've been able to accomplish just that! But be that as it may, it is quite clear we haven't been able to manage it. It is my personal belief- that the reason the world and all it's inhabitants hasn't been able to find this alluring treasure- is because as a whole, many of us do not know where to start. Finding a way to peace, is like digging up far-flung treasure scattered inside an active volcano. Sometimes it just isn't possible.
False Perception
- A fellow Hubber has a saying under their profile. When you read what they've written, the vast reality of realism of what we think of the world comes into play. IntimatEvolution writes, "People are inclined to believe the world has never been in an uproar." I for one, think that this idea is very true. With that said, the notion that many believe the world has never been in the same predicaments, actually curtails the process of finding peace. It is vitally important that there is an inside understanding as to the nature of the "beast". It is imperative that the whole picture is studied over first, before making any advancements towards peace. One false step, and the entire world would be in a state of mutiny. Which only sets us all up for a longer state of darkness to live in and deal with.
- For example: The United States of America's former presidential administration, under the command of George W. Bush, was one such active leadership that often left the world in mutiny against one another. It's narrow-minded foreign ambitions and brutal policing policies left the world defined by darkness. By not thinking clearly, (and because they lacked the ability to fully think a situation through); that administration's downfall was caused by the fact that it's accomplishments often caused more harm than good. It appeared to many of us onlookers, that if they would've just stopped, looked both ways and listened (as their mothers' had taught them to do), many of their fatal flaws would've been avoided. With the responsibility of governing a nation as powerful as the United States of America is; not understanding the sheer might and force that those responsibilities bear; is like wheeling an 18 wheeler tractor-trailer that's pulling a fully loaded, gas tank behind it, right through an open fireworks display, and driving the sucker into oncoming traffic, in the middle of rush hour traffic. It's irresponsible and madding! What may have started out as a peaceful adventure, could just very well blow up in every bodies faces. The simple fact is, George W. Bush's administration simply didn't understand what America's leadership bestowed upon the rest of the world. It's that elementary level of understanding, that is often missed place, or misrepresented when trying to create an element of peace in given situation. —(Please note the defined by darkness link. It you click on it, it will take to another fellow Hubpage Hubber hub, where they defined the "essence" darkness. What GeneriqueMedia has to offer in their hub, is an awareness that comes in handy when searching for peace. Again, the simple idea of peace is often just that, a simple idea. Without all factors in play- we all might as well be writing hubs about how to play checkers. Thank you GeneriqueMedia for your thoughtful insight on the subject of darkness.)
Matter of Fact
- I'm partial to the belief, that we must take notice to the world around us. It is critical that varying sides use, what fundamental tools they have at their disposal. It is only then that they have a chance at banding together and succeeding in what they set out to do. Just like with the Bush's administration, not being open minded, and only one sided will never be a starting place to finding peace. To run into a situation, without being fully aware of the circumstances and all the elements involved, is like being a Kamikaze fighter pilot on a suicide run. It's pointless, but yet, it could possibly do more damage to the dire situation than what was initially anticipated. In a continuum where a measure of peace is critically needed; an end result like that above would be tragic.
- Just in my short lifetime, I have witnessed that type of end result time and time again. So I know you all have too. When you think about what went wrong or replay a situation in your mind, you'll often see that there is a measure of understanding that seemed to be lacking between the parties involved. Too many times, we've all been witnesses to the devastating outcomes when one side or both sides, went into a situation full throttled, before thinking first. The perfect example of this, can be found within the historical barriers between any and all dealings between the United States of America and the Afghan people.
- Hublinks like this, are as good as any place to start. Matter of fact, they provide the world a constant reminder to what should be taking place in the here and now. They also establish a headquarters for people to gather in. When they've heard the call to band together, in order to help spread the message along. But keeping that in mind, who do you think is going to take the time to read any of these? ( Besides fellow Hubbers, or people who already support a peaceful state of coexistence, of course.)
- To be fully aware of your surroundings getting involved with missions like this, is first understanding that this isn't really a step towards peace, but more like a advertising mission statement. In all actuality people, what we have here is the same ole' campaign slogan, using the same ageless campaign strategy. That is all good and well, (and excuse the tone of skepticism being used here) but seriously people; without getting down to the nitty-gritty of it all, and getting our feet and hands dirty- what will be accomplished by this? Nothing, but more garbage to plug up the Internet. It's not like we are slaving away, getting hot and sweaty, while we sit on our rumps and write about aspirations of peace. Quit frankly, after reading several of these "peace seeking mission hubs", (mine included), it appears with all the ad's involved, this is more like a great capitalist adventure than an attempt at world peace.
- Some of you might be inclined to think that I'm a rude person for invading the world peace hub space in a manner such as this. How rude! But I assure you all, though it may come across as such, that is not the intent. By taking note of this fact; I am fully aware that if you have reached this point of my hub, and your first inclination was to think that I'm being "counter productive" or "rude". Then maybe I've not done a good enough job trying to explain "awareness and understanding". Again people, not trying to understand another persons position clearly and taking things way too personal, only leads you into a bigger mess. Case in point- George W. Bush.
- All too often, many of us are blinded by our own personal interpretations, and what we want willed. What I wanted to accomplished when I wrote this hub, is that you peer deep into "evil's eyes" and find goodness, joy, understanding and sincere compassion. I can only think of one man, whose teachings are flawless when it comes to dealing with two or more entities. The Dali Lama himself. He has never allowed himself to think inwardly, when dealing with the Chinese and his own personal sufferings. He has a personal measure of growth, that if we all would learn and lived by, I fully believe our world would actually have half a chance obtaining world peace. But all to often we are blinded by your own personal forethought, experiences and needs. Sometimes we so blinded by our personal weaknesses, that the road map to peace is lost in the shuffle. 1.) Until there is a true source of joy for our enemies and 2.) compassion being sought for them through us, 3.) stuff like this is nothing more than a capitalist adventure to turn personal wishes for peace into money making outlets. Yes, that depicts my personal insight quite well. The question left remaining here is, are you still willing to work with me, like I'm willing to work with in making this hublink something great? All too many times, a person when "pushed into a situation" like I've just pushed you (the reader) into- thinks that they can, but really they can't. Being open enough to realize the most simplistic of details, understanding them and learning from them- are some the greatest tools to use when trying to accomplish peace. If this commoradory, can make it without a single negative connotations with in it's fellowship, it just might stand at being successful.
- Understanding the truth variance in which we need to live by, regardless if the other side does or not, goes a long ways. I understand that it is wonderful to wish for peace. The very core that peaceful notions and peace ideology represents, would (if I'm left to ponder and imagine) be heavenly without a doubt! However, again a vital measure of action that needs to take place, before one begins with seeking out such a heavenly adventure, is understanding what all is in play. It is also worth noting, that without actions behind these hubs, (or campaign slogan's as I like to refer to situations like these,) nothing will truly be different. We all might as well be standing a street corner, holding up poster board signs telling motorists (passing us by) to "honk for peace!"
A Peace War
- The real nuts and bolts to peace occurs when mankind decides to take aim at mankind. Since the dawn of man, the world as we know it has been a world built on diversity, turbulence, and free-willed thinkers. Understanding the who, what, when and whys are key to resolving any conflicts among us. It also is a way to insure that those surrounded by a volatile situation, won't start pointing fingers at one another. I can think of three masterminds who were able to shape the world, provide peaceful resolved and set in motion a change of events that will forever have a positive impact on our societies.
- Gandhi
- Martin Luther King, Jr., and the
- Dali Lama
- Each one of these historical figureheads started out in the most humble of situations. Where adversity within a collective group, often leads to the inevitable outcome of undesirable outcomes. These three men of the 20th and 21st century were able to move mountains through compassion, understanding, enlightenment and joy. These men where able to lead large groups of people without personally getting emotional involved. What I mean by this is, they were able to put their listening caps on an truly listen to what the world was saying around them. They didn't let hate invade their presence. They didn't strike back when struck. They patiently listened and marched on. Often it is the slightest attempt to be heard rather than voluntarily listening, that causes emotional wrangling to take center stage. Peace Wars are often caused when leaders allow these emotional wranglings to set the pace of their own personal wants and needs, along with the hate mongering that is built up within the people they happen to be leading. But neither of three inspirational men, let those opposing forces dictate the goodness of their beliefs in which they were acting upon. How many wars have been started over peaceful intentions gone array? More than any of us can possibly imagine. The one thing that history has taught us is that there is a fine line between love and hate, goodness and evil and between peace-accords and selfish-endeavors. I often find Christians to be a collective group that would rather start a war, than live their lives Christ-like. While most of them don't even realize they are lacking joy, compassion and understanding, their attempt to colonize the world under Christ's beliefs, leaves a bloody trail of hurt feelings, stepped on toes and hot spots hell bent on world. Not taking the time to fully understand the comings of a given situation, is like being a small child with selective hearing.
- I think the most difficult aspect of achieving peace, is making both points of views noticed, understood and accountable. Without this type of initiative forethought, the most likely end result is often what I call, "A Peace War." I can sit here all day and list all the different wars the world has played party too, that are Peace Wars. Just to name a few, the American conflict in Iraq started as a Peace War. The French's attempt to colonize North Africa was a Peace War. The American Korean and Vietnam police missions were Peace Wars. When one views and studies the beginning stages of a certain situation, much can be utilized and learned. Many of these attempts started off in one way or other, a peaceful idea with devastating end results. In America, how many political rallies have you been to where one side intentionally antagonizes the other, and the final result is an out of control brawl? When Martin Luther King, Jr. marched on Washington D.C., it is foolish to think that he wasn't spit on, hit, yelled at or shoved. But his personal heart felt compassion and love he felt for all walks of life- is what paved the road for America's Barrack Obama's Presidency.
- If you truly want to make a difference. Start by becoming sincerely active. If you're an American write your Senators and Representatives on a daily basis. Email them a copy of your hub. Email President Barrack Obama your hub page. Volunteer in your community more. If you think you do enough already and feel you have a need to leave me a comment on all the things you already do do- then you clearly have way too much time on your hands. Get out and get busy! Try going door to door and taking a survey of where your neighborhood stands on certain situations and issues. Find out if you can face adversity head on with grace. Next time you see people on the side street asking you to honk for peace, get out of your car- write down there emails and start a coalition within your community to advance the peace process further. I ask you this question before you go, "Where would America be now if Martin Luther King, Jr. didn't get out from behind his pulpit, and march on Washington for all people?"

I'm happy you stopped by. Thanks so much for commenting! Peace with you too.
Peace to us all!
This is awesome RK, sorry it took me so long to read. I deleted one of my hubs, but I'm keeping it now that you've decided it was good enough to be crosslinked. ;)
Hey no prob GM. I think your define darkness is great. I hope you don't delete it, because out of all the 6 answers, yours was easiest to relate too.
when you pray and you want it to spring into action you must think and ask out loud what you want! or write it on a piece of paper.praying to yourself in your head are just ideas that wont happen. your +thoughts are invisible so writing your thoughts on paper it happens in the visible +physical world. you will get a answer to every prayer you have with no doubt! it brings your spiritual prayers into reality and answers your prayers. ++

Wow! What a hub. Allow me to thank you for sharing your hub with us and being part of the Hubs for peace link around the world.
I understand what you are trying to get at, that further action is necessary for peace to actually be affected, even though you use a lot of hype to get to that point. Sometimes it is necessary. Who will read these hubs? Who knows. But if they affect just one person, who in turn affect more people, who may affect more people, who knows how many people, or what key moment will be affected. It may be a pipe dream, but it is my hope that many will be inspired to write hubs for the project, and that somewhere, it will make a difference. If enough people join in, who knows. At the very least I was affected by the hub that I read that started this whole project.

It was my desire to share that hub, and who knows what other hubs could change one person that could start a chain reaction. It is through understanding that peace will be affected. What a better way than to read and try to understand these hubs from around the world. And though I take issue with several points, it is nice to see where you are coming from. I thank you for your contribution and I sincerely hope that your call for further involvement reach at least one person who will act upon it.
