Patti Ann I agree with you, peanut butter with sliced bananas on wheat bread is one of my all time favorite snacks.
Hello, RA! Haven't connected with you for awhile and it's so funny that I should choose THIS hub, considering I bought a new kind of "complete food" peanut butter bar this morning at a health food store and was so lazy I slabbed some PB on a couple pieces of Exekiel 4:9 bread for a late lunch! Thanks for making me feel better about my day!!! Hope you are doing great- looks like it from your fan list.
OH! Here is a very cool recipe that I LOVE: toast some sprouted wheat bread, slather it with butter or safflower margarine, zap this in the toaster oven, layer it with some peanut butter, zap this in the toaster oven, top it all off with blackstrap molasses and give that a sizzle- not too much, just enough to set it bubbling. Voila! A healthy treat. I love it so much, I skip all the toasting and eat it all "raw" lol.
You either love it or you hate it, haha. Have a great evening.
Storytellersrus, thanks for sharing that nice yummy snack recipe, I will definitely try it out. Peanut butter cookies are another one of my favorites.
Hi there,
I love peanut butter on fresh bread with butter.
Its best to get an Organic peanut butter that has no hydrogenated vegetable oil, salt, dextrose, and sweeteners.
These additives retard the receptors in the body and causes you to never feel satisfied, and want more, thus over eating. Also why they use it in food.
Thanks Bucks for sharing your insight, because peanut butter can become addicting to those who love it.
I absolutely love peanut butter but as you said in moderation. Thanks
Your right ocbill and not only that, one thing about peanut butter is that it makes you really thirsty. LOL
Hi ResearchAnalyst. Thanks for the good word on peanut butter. I've been eating peanut sandwiches all my life and, no doubt, will continue to do so until I leave. Today, I only eat the Smart Balance brand that contains no hydrogenated oil. It is all natural with Flax oil and 1000mg of omega 3. Thanks again for the good word--information--on peanut butter. It is indeed music to my ears!
Sounds like your eating a really healthy peanut butter hubby7
I really love your hubs. They are all informative and well organized. Thank you so much for this one. I love peanut butter. It is one of the healthiest and quickest ways to make a sandwich. I did not know some of the benefits you shared here. I will remember them when I have my next peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
I read that I should not eat peanut butter as it is fattening. Your hub contains some good info here. I still love peanut butter! Yum! : )
