Cooking Roast Beef and Coffee
If you like serving main dishes that are tasty and always a hit, try cooking a roast in coffee! This recipe may sound a little odd, but give it a try. You will like it.
What It Takes
- garlic clove
- 1 medium onion
- 1 c. vinegar
- 2 c. strong coffee
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 2 c. water
How To Cook and Prepare Peking Roast Beef
Cut slits almost through roast. Insert slivers of garlic and onion. Place in dish and pour vinegar over. Refrigerate 24 to 48 hours. Discard vinegar. Brown roast in cooking oil in a heavy pot until nearly burned on all sides. Add coffee and water. Simmer 6 hours until tender. Season with salt and pepper about 20 minutes before roast is done.
