By thinking out loud

Last liar wins

What did she know and when did she know it?  The question of the day.  If the point of all this is to show us another politician wasn't exactly truthful, what's the pioint?  we all already know that for them it's the expediency of saying whatever they wanrt at a moments notice.  Political points trump truth everytime.  Since we fully know that no matter how far off from the truth she strayed, there will be no consequence of her deceit.  Over the years we have seen house speakers removed for far less questions of honesty.   But not this time, this speaker has created her own feifdom, and she seems to rule it with an iron fist.  As polls and legislative achievement show, she's not even very good at her job.  But all this matters little.  Her constituents appreciate her bringing home the bacon, even if her family members seem to be the biggest beneficiaries of that bacon.  Her realm after all covers San Fransisco, which would never be confused with the real America.  Or it's values.  The gutless members of the house and senate would not dare to cross her or raise her competency as an issue.  The pres. has her out front running his "stimulus"  legislation, so he's not going to care on  way or another if she has truth issues.  The public, especially the left leaning ones, would never believe that a member in good standing  of the left would have ever winked and nodded over the tortuure issue.  And to them, as long as she continues to push the pres. platform further to the left, they're not concerned with such trivial matters such as honesty.   No, she will be un-harmed by all this and the only ones that will suffer are the ones the govt finally decides to go after and prosecute.    Surrounded by yes people butt kissers and public relations types, she is probably right now feeling that she is saintly, and this is some kind of vendetta out to smear her good name.  Go figure.
