In our travels to Malaysia, we have visited yet another exciting destinations in South-Eastern Asia which rightly fascinates and impress many. The diverse nature and culture in Malaysia makes the peninsula and islands around it into a Mecca of opportunities for the traveler.
Here is a historic and hectic city life in Kuala Lumpur, exciting trips to national parks with the possibility of accommodation close to nature, and of course many beautiful beach destinations.
The weather in Malaysia is very different from east to west - so that the journey must be planned with care.

On the east coast and travel goals are (Tioman Island, Perhentian Island, Redange and Borneo), the monsoon starts in October and lasts until March. Worst is over the period from November to mid February and we in this period does not recommend travel to this part of Malaysia.
On the west coast (Langkawi and Penang) has monsoon between May / June to October. Monsoon in West Malaysia are not as strong as along the east coast so it is possible to travel to this part of the country in the monsoon period.

Penang, Pinang, Malaysian state in the north-west of the country. The State consists of the island of Penang (285 km2) in northern Strait of Malacca and a long range (759 km2) on the mainland east of the island, a total of 1.3 million. inhabitants (2000). Capital Georgetown was formerly an important discharge of rubber and tin from the British Peninsular Malaysia, Penang has now evolved into a dynamic industrial and tourist area. Industry, especially electronics and textiles have been grouped together in zones south of Georgetown, while tourism focuses on the north coast beach hotels. In 1985 a bridge to the mainland finalized, it is among Asia's longest. New industrial districts grew up on the mainland side of town Prai, which with its new north-south highway is connected to Kuala Lumpur and Johor Baharu, Malaysia's two other major economic centers.

In 1786 founded the British East India Company a colony on the island, which in 1791 was enshrined with the Sultan of Kedah in 1800 and expanded with a range of Malacca peninsula. It functioned as a supply base for ships in service with tea and opium between China and India. In 1826 Penang was administratively merged with the Malacca and Singapore Straits Settlements, and these cities managed by British India until 1867, then from central London until 1948, Penang and Malacca became part of Malayan federation.
