People Scavenger Hunt
65This is a self-esteem activity that I do with 3rd through 5th graders.
Objective: To help students learn about each other. To help students to be more assertive by approaching other classmates. To allow students to show others what they have done or what they enjoy doing, thus helping their self-esteem.
Materials: Scavenger hunt papers & pencils
Activity: Beforehand, make a scavenger hunt paper with about 20 squares. Put things in the sqaures that students may have done, such as : is wearing jeans today, likes onions on their pizza, plays sports, etc....
Pass out papers. Have students write their name on the back. Students must approach other students & switch papers. They then sign their initials in every square that applies to them. They may not fill out their own paper, only their classmates'.
After a period of time, have them go back to their seats with their own paper and go over each item and allow students to raise their hands on the ones that apply to them so that others may learn about them.
