Pepper Spray Defense, the Practicle Choice

With literally hundreds of self defense products on the market today, most consumers are probably wondering which product has the best all around application. Without a doubt, pepper spray will have to be my weapon of choice. Keeping in mind that the purpose of any non-lethal self defense product is simply to disable your attacker long enough for you to get away, pepper spay is extremely effective. Legal in most states and commonly available in strengths of 10% (2 million SCU) or 18% (3 million SCU), pepper spray will definitely ruin your attackers day. In addition to causing extreme pain, pepper spray swells the mucous membranes in the nose and throat making it difficult to breath. Pepper spray will also cause the veins in the eyes to swell, making it almost virtually impossible to see.

Another advantage of pepper spray has over other products is the element of surprise. Pepper spray can be purchased in several different deceiving and easily concealed containers. The Pepper Shot Pepper Pager or the Mace Hot Walkers are my personal favorites. There is no bigger advantage against an attacker than the element of surprise.

The most important thing that I tell consumers to consider when choosing a defense product is the ease in which it can be accessed. No matter how effective a defense product may be, if it cannot be easily accessed in an emergency situation, it is pretty much useless. Because most of the pepper spray products can be worn or carried in plain sight without drawing attention, they have a big advantage over other products and in my opinion would have to be the most practical choice.

Be sure that you are familiar with the laws and restrictions concerning pepper sprays or any other self defense weapon before you make the decision on which product is right for you
