I want to like you. I REALLY want to like you.
Dear Perez,
There was a time when Perezhilton.com was my go to blog. Over a year ago, I discovered the bitchy self appointed Queen of All Media. Updating constantly throughout the day, his site is like a big bag of Oreos; full of guilty fat and sugar and you can't stop eating it up. Slowly but surely, his celebrity grew. As his celbrity grew, so did his ego. And his girth.
When I first stumbled across perezhilton.com, I was struck by his decidedly un-politically correctness. There were no other websites that called people gay when maybe they weren't or labeled actresses as fat. It was shocking. And it was fun to see the childlike doodles of cocaine or semen that he Photo-shopped onto their images. After a while though, his own celebrity became a frequent topic of conversation. He labeled himself fat so it was okay. But soon, he popped up on tv shows, and magazines and interviews. Celebs now kissed his (fat) ass to stay on his good side and the power went to his head. Perezhilton.com started to be all about Perez Hilton the star. The snarky blogs are too often interrupted by his announcement of a television appearance or a party he went. Half of the videos on his blog were now videos of himself. I miss the old Perez. We went to the website to read about celebrities, not him.
Perez, please take it down a notch or two. Maybe you can have a whole website just about you, but let us have the first one back. We like you, but don't make us hate you. We don't want to hate you. Unless you want us to hate you, in which case keep doing what you're doing. But I am pretty sure you want us to like you. Leave Perez Hilton out of perezhilton.com. You'll be glad you did.

Well, as someone who has always wondered why we need Perez Hilton, let me weigh (pardon the expression) in here. First, the whole outing thing I find offensive as a gay man. I don't find it empowering as I know several people who have had difficult times coming out and I'm a believer in letting people do this in their own time. Second, when I lived in LA I saw the "Perez People" all the time. They are hangers on who discover that they'll never be discovered because they simply have no talent. While he has made an astounding career out of having no talent (gotta give it to him there) doesn't he realize between the hair and the girth, he doesn't look "hot" he simply looks like an extra on the Flinstones that would try to pick up Barney Rubble in the bathroom by tapping his foot in the stall next to him? Enough all ready.

TMZ is better but not much. Its to much biased hate against a few celebs, to predictable and not fun.

I can't stand Perez anymore, he just picks a few celebs to hate on (those that don't kiss him ass) and posts hateful stuff about them and then posts way too much of his stuff. I hope he falls off the face of the earth soon.If you're looking for a funny gossip site there are lots, dlisted.com is my personal fave and imnotobsessed is updated all the time.
Well said. If he has even 1 ounce of sense he will listen. He is alienating the people that gave him any sort of power. If the hits stop (on his site) then so do the adverts, with those gone, no site. No site = no celebrity or gigs to host etc. Then no power. Then you would have to get a job Perez.....so listen to the readers...we are speaking!

Paris Hilton makes a career out of doing nothing, but she has her family money and her looks to fall back on. Perez certainly doesnt have the looks, and what little money he has made being a prick, wont last a lifetime. At that point, Im sure we'll see him serving coffee in Dunkin Dohnuts.

I agree. I'm tired of seeing youtube videos of Perez, or seeing him blatantly suck up to certain celebs. One thing I've really appreciated is being introduced to new musical talents I may not have heard of without him.
I have found another guilty pleasure site that I visit more often than Perez's site. It's called dlisted.com and the guy who writes that is really funny.
I posted your letter on a newly created gossip forum, I made the site last night because I was frustrated with going to Perez and having ads thrown at me from every direction... among other things.

So, because Parisite Herpes Hilton has money, that makes what she is as a person OK? Doesn't that seem a little elitist to you? I find Perez funny, and I enjoy him taking down these celebtards and their overinflated egos. These people act like they cured cancer or something, and I find Perez's reminders that they are just people who got really, really lucky (or have famous parents or relatives) to be a GOOD thing. Yeah, I'd like for him to tone down the self-promotion a little bit, and focus more on the bashing of these worthless celebutards, but hey...it IS his site. I'll still visit it regardless. And it may make me evil, or a "bully" to like his mean-spirited posts, but I'm comfortable with that. I'd rather embrace who I am, than pretend to be all sunshine. flowers, rainbows, and puppies. The world is not a nice place, and Perez is at least honest about who he likes and dislikes. Yeah, I'd like him to evenly bash ALL celebutards, but hey, I can't be picky!
