Perfect fishing technique, No way! Fun fishing, absolutely!
64Can I borrow your rod?
I have always lorved to fish. As a kid I would fish in a puddle if I thought I had a chance to catch something. I have fished in small streams and creeks that really only had bait in them and had a blast! When I was young I would fish the small creeks in Colorado with worms, fireballs and grasshoppers. I would catch trout that could barely get their mouth around a hook and was always thrilled to bait up again and start over . In the summer I would visit my Grandparents in Elk Run Iowa. Its a small town outside Waterloo and by no means a fishing mecca. They do have a small creek called Elk Run. I would get a string and a stick and dig for worms in the bank bordering the creek and I hauled in creek chub and couldn't have been prouder!
Now lets get to the meat of my fishing experiences or my famous flubs. I'm much more famous for those than I am for my successes and I have had some of them. I always tried to understand what made fish tick, where they hid, how they found their prey, what and when different colors worked, temperature, and anything else that would improve my result. This amount of focus in my case meant I wasn't really paying attention. Thats the rub!
I am the person who can break, launch, lose, forget, drop, snag, tangle and generally screw-up equipment. I have broken rods sticking out car windows, and I almost always break the rod that I move out of harms way so I won,t step on it. I,m sure all my rods and reels could fly at any moment. I have snagged and casted equipment from the shore, off a pier, out of a boat and not all of it was mine. I've left perfectly good equipment all over the country. I have opened rod cases to find they are empty and opened tackle boxes to realize my well organized system of plastic boxes only works when you make sure you have the right stuff. I've committed to the deep knives, pliers, sunglasses, hats(I normally get them back), spools, rod tips and lures. I believe if it can be snagged I can snag it. Certainly all the stuff you normally snag plus my partners, waders, shirt, tent, truck, and the worst possible thing of all the wide part of my wifes jeans. Tangles have been a mystery to me. I just can,t figure out how that mess is my doing. I'm not alone I have friends.
I would like to share some of my more precious moments in the future. And if you have out done me please don't hesitate to explain. I feel beter knowing there are others who have some of the same issues. Watch for my future Hubs I'll share some of my accidents.

Hey Kunsa! Thanks for droping by! I'm working on another it will be ready soon.
Brenda thanks for the comment! Fishing can be a blast!
Sneak, my husband was fishing for bass in my brothers pond and I walked out to watch him. He got ready to cast out, heard a loud noise and I went to the ground. He caught me in the back of the head. There was a car going by at the same time and my brother thought someone had shot me.
Bobby tried to get the hook out but it hurt to bad so we ended up going to the hospital with the hook and the rubber worm attached to my head. The doctor was funny, he said, My God What was he fishing for? It was a big hook.
Hey ftgtmom! Thats hilarious! my wife and I really got a kick out of your pain!(sorry, it was funny thou)Thanks for sharing great story!
lol yeah its funny now. not to funny when it happened. glad you enjoyed
After you posted your thoughtful comment about my hot flashes I decided to take a look at your hubs. I was laughing so hard I brought in my husband - because he is an avid fisherman and we both enjoyed reading your Hub! Great job and keep up the good writing!
Funny! My main fishing partner must be related to you. He's lost, broken, or messed up more tackle and equipment in the few years we've fished together than I have in my whole life! It's all good, though, that's why I always bring spares, and we're just killing time and having fun. That's what it's about. Good Hub!

Haha
I love to fish! I keep mine very simple, though, because I'm klutzy too. I just sit on the bank, throw the line with worm attached, out, and see what bites! It's more a relaxation for me than an actual hunt for fish.
Your post is funny, sneakorocksolid. ..I don't have any funny fish tales, but I did hear about a friend of mine who hooked another friend's ear! Ouch! We teased him unmercifully for quite a while!
