Many organizations are still facing problems with regards to their output as a whole. In today's unfriendly business environment, organizations need to if not eliminate then minimize obstacles towards reaching their desired goals. Certain factors may bring about poor performance, employee productivity, management styles, the technology used in day to day operations, etc. But as an effort to address this issue, many organizations have engaged in performance improvement programs that are focused on enhancing their most important asset, their members.
Performance improvement is very crucial for any organization, not only does it affect a company's profitability, having performance improvement also tackles down certain workplace issue such as tardiness and lack of motivation that some employees are guilty of. This is why companies that want to stay competitive invest in team building, employee training, and leadership training for its members. Investments on this are have been proven to yield tremendous returns for the company as acknowledged by businesses that have experience increase in its output after engaging in such activities.
Not only does performance improvement benefit the organization as a whole, it also yields positive effect to members of the organizations as individuals. Having unmotivated employees means having members that are unhappy of their position or tasks in the organization. Their unwillingness to perform what is expected from them pulls down those that are putting tremendous efforts on their contributions to the organization. Though punitive actions to major slackers may awaken them from their old ways, it may also cause a high turn over in employment rate. If not treated, this becomes costly to organizations since resources are spent every time they fill in empty positions (job postings, training costs for the newly employed, etc.) their work force. But if performance is achieved with the use of the proper applications and approach, employees will become more motivated on their jobs and will a better outlook in their lives as individuals.
