Perry Marshall wrote a book a few years ago that changed my life.. a bit of a bold statement I know but it is totally true and I have decided to put the story down so others can benefit.

The book in question is " The definitive guide to Google Adwords" which intrigued me straight away as I was trying to come to grips with Google Adwords to advertise my new website www.americansoda.co.uk
You know what Google Adwords are don't you.. they are the Ads that appear at the very top of the page and down the right hand side when you do a search on Google.
I had been spending about $2000 per month and I was getting an adequate return on investment so when I saw Perry Marshall's book I thought its worth a look.
I am so glad that I did. In that book Perry Marshall shares all the mistakes that people who are using Google adwords are making.
What really interested me was when he said I could rank higher than my competitors for the same key words but for less money per click.
I was hooked.
I read the book in one night and immediately started to implement the strategies Perry had outlined.

The Perry Marshall secret
When you create a Google ad you need to put the keyword in the title of your ad.
That's it..how simple..but you would be astounded at how many advertisers and marketers do not do this.
Just put it to the test.. go to Google and type in Green Shoes and see how many Google ads appear and how most of them won't have the words " green shoes in the title/headline of their ad.
Now lets talk about this a little more just so you totally understand what I mean.
Just imagine you are looking to buy some "green shoes" so you type those words into the Google serach box and see what appears on the results page.
If you see an Ad with the words "green shoes" in the title/headline how likely is it that you will click on that ad ?
Let me tell you..its almost a certainty. How do I know ?
Because I have tested it to death and it works like magic.
Before I read The book by Perry Marshal my headline for my Ad promoting my webite just had the name of my store in it and then I had a list of keywords as long as your arm that if searched on would result in that Google ad showing up.
When I started puting the keywords into the headline my click through rate ( the ratio between how many times your ad is seen and how many times it is clicked on) went from 0.2% to 10%
Can you imagine how much more traffic to my site resulted from that one simple little tip that took me all of 10 minutes to do !!
I went from taking $200 per day in sales to $2000.
