Personal Student Loans For People With Bad Credit
77If you have bad credit, it means that you've had credit opportunities before and have had the time to make enough mistakes to cause that credit to go into the hopper. If you are in a dead end job and realize that you need more education to get anywhere in the world, you know that you have to go to college. Your bad credit might keep you from getting enough money to attend college but then again it might not. Personal student loans for people with bad credit are available and can help you to go to school.
However, I'm going to highly recommend taking a look at some other programs that are out there first. There's no reason to go with private or personal student loans if you can qualify for the federal ones - they are much better and honestly will save you a ton of money.
Federal Student Loans
The Federal Government has several student loans available that have
nothing to do with your credit rating. Among these loans are Stafford
and Perkins loans along with Pell grants. The Stafford and Perkins
loans must be repaid, however the Pell grants are just that; grants of
money that do not have to be repaid.
Stafford loans come in two types, subsidized and unsubsidized. The
granting of these loans does not consider the credit rating of the
applicant. Both the subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans are
currently the most popular and most granted loans for both
undergraduate and graduate students. The difference between the two
Stafford loans is how the interest on the loan is repaid. The
subsidized Stafford loans are generally awarded to the most financially
needy students. The federal government pays the interest on the loan
each month that school is attended and for six months after graduation.
At that time the student undertakes the repayment of the loan principle
and interest. The student who has an unsubsidized Stafford loan must
pay the interest each month. After graduation repayment of both
principle and interest is made.
Perkins loans are relatively uncommon when compared to Stafford loans.
The Perkins loans are held for the students who are the most
financially disadvantaged. These loans usually fall into the range of
$1,000 - $4,000. The maximum amount of the Perkins loans that can be
incurred is $20,000.
Pell Grants are grants of money to the students who are the neediest
financially. Pell Grants are just that, grants of money to students who
never have to repay the money.
Aside from the big three, Stafford, Perkins and Pell, there are many
other loans and grants available to students who choose to enter the
medical profession. Nursing student loans are available along with
Primary Care loans. These loans usually carry a clause that the student
must remain in the medical profession until the loan is repaid.
Personal student loans for bad credit are available from the federal
government. These loans are awarded without a check of credit reporting
services. If a student is in need of money to attend college and has
bad credit there are loans available to allow the student to got to
college, receive a degree and become a more productive person.
Getting Private Student Loans With Bad Credit
If you can't qualify for loans provided and backed by the government, it will be a lot harder to pay for your schooling. However, there are still loans available. There are plenty of private lenders that offer personal student loans with bad credit to kids that need fundage.
Take a look at Astrive and have a chat with a representative. This can help you to see if you need to find a cosigner or do anything further.
