Personal real life ghost stories you experienced.
70Many years ago, I met a former colleague. I was overjoyed on seeing her. Then, we started to exchange news. She mentioned that she had met one of my best friends, whom I had lost contact years before. I was very happy and started to press her for more information.
This lady was rather reluctant to tell me more. After a while, she told me to meet her for lunch the next day. We agreed to meet at a restaurant within walking distance from my office. I did not notice anything wrong with her. In my excitement, I had forgotten to ask for her contact number.
The next day during lunch hour, I went to the restaurant as agreed. I waited for a while and ordered my food. However, she did not appear and I had to leave as the lunch hour was almost over. As I walked out of the restaurant, I saw her.
She was still in the same clothes which she wore last evening. I looked at my watch. There was still ten minutes left. I needed to hurry as I had to attend a meeting after lunch. However, I still felt it was polite to say 'hi'.
So, I turned my head towards her. She was not in a hurry at all. Just then, I saw my reflection in the glass window of the restaurant. From where I stood, I thought I could also see her reflection too. I waited for her reflection to appear in the window glass, but none.
My heart was pounding hard. There was something wrong. She was walking nearer to me, but I still could not see the other reflection! My eyes were on her and then the window glass. Just then, I felt a cold chilling wind blowing at me. The alarm inside my head went off..... and I fled!
I could not concentrate during the meeting. After that, I told a close co-worker what happened. The co-worker looked puzzled, and asked me what was the name of the restaurant I went to during lunch.
She told me that the restaurant was located in another street, about ten minutes walk from our office. It was never opened for lunch!
A puzzling discovery I made later was that, the place I went for luch was actually a burnt down building. In fact, the whole block of building in the street was badly damaged many years before. The street was very quiet and not many people would want to go there.
I never really dared to find out who the 'lady' who claimed to be my former colleague was. I had never been back to that street again. In fact, I dared not even asked what food did I eat that afternoon!
There was a saying that 'ghosts' have no reflections!
