Pet Airways is an airline that caters exclusively for pet travel.  Whenever pets travel on a commercial airline pets end up in the cargo hold of the particular aircraft.  Although the cargo hold is heated and obviously provided with oxygen it's still quite traumatic for pets to be placed and flown in a cargo hold.  Often these pets are treated like cargo and in many cases it has happened where the cage in which a pet was travelling opened on the apron and the pet ran off never to be seen again.

Having a pet airline might minimize the risk as it would be assumed that the staff involved in handling these pets would have a different outlook and be more cautious with people's animals.  A lot of people regard their pets as their children and having that extra piece of mind when transporting pets around must be comforting.

As for the pets travelling one wonders whether they get on board service and grooming? For one thing at least the flight attendant won't be able to understand the complaints of the animals and be harassed by unruly pets ......... one hopes?
