Dogs For Sale: Internet Scams
70
Internet scams are no longer new! They have almost entered every sphere of our lives and have not left the innocent puppies as well. Like most things that you purchase online, many of us also buy and sell Puppies Online. Most of us see "Dogs For Sale" Both buyers and sellers are vulnerable online as there are no definite ways of securing your purchase online.
Most of the victims are trapped into paying for something that does not exist. Some may ask help from you to have the puppy that they can longer keep for some reason. You pay for the shipping cost and the puppy never arrives at your doorstep. There are also chances of you encountering a bad breeder online.
Most of the dog breeders are honest and take utmost care to raise and train their puppies. However, there are some breeders who are there to just take your money and not give its worth. It these breeders you must be on the lookout when you are purchasing dogs online. They usually target customers who are not too educated about various Dog Breeds. They are out there to misrepresent the puppy and make some quick money. These breeders should be termed criminals who will not send the puppy you have asked for or will make up some excuse or the other or delay the entire process. Some may even vanish from the internet world and would be extremely difficult to trace them. Others still are smarter. They may send you a puppy who might not be trained even they are written as trained. Some may even ship you a sick puppy or not the breed you asked for.
Internet Puppy Scam Has New Twist
8 Pointer Guide To Prevent Dog Sale Scams
Here are some ways you can help yourself from being duped.
* Confirm the seller's name, address and phone number. Try to get hold of some references and call them up to find out more about the seller. Do not buy a puppy without interviewing the seller.
* Beware of those sellers who sell their puppies at extremely discounted prices. Do not be tempted by offers which are ridiculously impossible.
* Look out for people who promise to deliver puppies with 24 hours. In most cases the puppy has to be 8 weeks old before it can travel.
* If you are in the US, it is advisable to pay with US Postal Money Order as both the customer and the breeder are traceable. Never use Western Union or Money Gram as it means your puppies are being delivered from outside the US and it is extremely difficult and time consuming to track anybody in such cases.
* One of the safest methods is using escrow service which enables you to hold the money till you receive the deserved puppy.
* Sellers who demand that you pay extra to have the dog clear custom charges.
* It is best you receive your puppy directly at the airport instead of being delivered at your place.
* If you are even slightly suspicious, you must immediately file a complaint with the administration.

It is such a shame. Thanks for making everyone aware of these scams!
There are certainly a lot of scams out there. Did you hear about the poodle scam in Asia recently, where people were conned into buying sheep sheared in traditional poodle fashion. Seriously! I guess if you come from a country where there are no sheep, but you've seen and admired poodles in the movies, you might just fall for it, and apparently quite a few people did!
I was caught in a similar scam when I tried to order a Russian wife online. They kept my money and no wife arrived...I had to kiss that $14.99 away.
I have to research this poodle scam...that is one of the funniest things I have heard.
Nice hub, keep them coming.
I have just seen your doggie scam hub. I think this is good work.
Thanks for informing.
