Saint Luke
The Church Beginning After Jesus's Death
Saint Peter
St. Peter following the death of Jesus Christ
In the days of Jesus, there was and still is an ongoing war between the Jews and Rome. Rome was an invincible force as they ruled the world . Any Jewish person who was remotely seen as a threat to the Kingship and Empire was burned on crosses. It didn't matter who you were, your status in society or even your sex. Luke wrote his account of the events in his own experiences and told us that he would put his own spin on events and they would not not always be the total truth of the matter. He said that himself in the beginning of his first of two books. This is in Episode 1 and this article start with Episode 2. Purchase the entire set on the right to see the whole Program.
Peter was a great friend to Jesus even though he was scared of being associated with him for a time. This is true forgiveness in my opinion. After Jesus died there was some uneasy things happening. Peter began to teach a new way of living called "The Way". Some know it as "The Nazarene Way". This is the way that Jesus was brought up and what he taught the disciples and apostles how they should live. It is considered Gnostic by the church of today. You will see many references in the videos on this and also get a better understanding of the times andwhat Peter wanted of the church. As I understand it, Peter was a loving person, but since he wanted to live the Gnostic Way, his teachings were not well accepted by any church doctrine. Though they do still call him the Rock andfoundation of the church. That does foster some questions of the validity of that whole idea. You will understand more after watching and learning how Paul came to be involved in the next videos.
Paul on the other hand was a true Roman soldier in that he would have killed anyone at the drop of a hat for even remotely saying anything against the Roman Empire. Roman Kings were not tolerant of anything that they felt that would usurp the control of the country.
Enjoy the videos and learn much from them. Things were brought to my attention that I never knew too. They are very interesting abd will give you a new outlook on the times of the beginning of the church today.
Peter's miracle exit and James's entrance of Jesus Followers
Divisions and Visions of God's True Plan
Paul was a forceful Jesus Follower. Conflict of Gentile converts were among the many differing values that were brought into the minds of Jewish peoples and Gentiles. The really didn't want to Stand Out for fear of being murdered by the Roman Empire of that time.

Josephus's reports on Caligula and The Start of Paul's Accounts
Saint Paul
Paul's Mission was to convert everyone so that, In HIS view, Jesus would come again.
Paul's Way
Paul thought that Jesus was coming back--in a week or so. He also thought that if he had saved people that he would come back sooner. He wasn't saving or giving salvation to sinners, but saving them from the tyranny of the Roman Empire. There was no talk of sin in the time of Paul. He went on to convert others and really committed to it. He took it so personally that if the failure of his journey would mean his own failure. He had some odd notions and his thoughts became the words in the Bible and not that of Jesus's. There is much more in the video on the right.
Paul,, Paul, Paul
Paul puts himself on a pedestal
When someone puts themselves as an Elitist there are repercussions. He ended up in jail after visiting the Corinthians. He was ready for execution, but he was set free instead. He took that as a sign to continue his mission. Things changed for Paul after that. Watch the video to learn even more f what Paul did.
Proclamaition of God And Jesus's Kingdom
Paul Was Not Accepted Into His Hometown
People were agitated and was charged with disturbing the peace. He then reverted back to a Roman Citizen so says the account of Luke. Nowhere else was it said and it has no historic value or very little.
Remember in the other vieos Paul was accused of embezzling his own Jesus followers. His donation to the poor was never mentioned and they thinks that it wasn't accepted in his church or followers.
Watch and learn more about Paul and Peter. Learn about the burning of the beloved Shining White Temple and why the Jews were blamed for it. This was the first purge of Jews from Rome.
Was Jesus even real or Paul?
- The real facts about Christianity
As I stated in my profile, I am a bedraggled refugee from the "Holy" Roman Catholic Church. As a member of the Church I learned next to nothing about Christianity. You are told what to believe and NOT... - Pope: Basilica bones belong to apostle St. Paul - CNN.com
Scientific tests prove bones housed in the Basilica of St. Paul in Rome are those of the apostle St. Paul himself, according to Pope Benedict XVI. - The Apostle Paul. Rabbi Saul – Could it all be a fabrication?
Uncompromising exposure of the counterfeit origins of Christianity and of the evil it has brought to the world.

You are welcome. See you soon!
I'll have to bookmark it to get to all of the videos as well. Thanks! I enjoy studying that period and the people and events surrounding Jesus' life and ministry.
rongould, thanks for stopping by and I do hope tha tyou learn something. It is a vry timultous time period for anyone but the Romans.
LG- I have bookmarked this to go through all the videos. Btw when St.Peter said this "he would put his own spin on events and they would not not always be the total truth of the matter" then does that imply he wasn't always truthful? Thumbs up for an excellent historical account.
CW, it was LUKE that said that. I a not sure if that meant that he wasn;t truthful. Maybe he meant that he was more on the side of poeticness or colorful. He was an author of sorts and that would make sense to --at least me--that he might write in a way to gain readers and not absolutely truthful. Maybe he added some things in that respect too. We can only guess because we weren't there, nor do we actually know him in person as to know his true character.
Oh OK I thought Luke was writing an account of St.Peter following the death of Christ. I regret I misunderstood. Yes it is better to leave some questions unanswered rather trying to answer based on our "limited" understanding of that time period.
Paul did some pretty awesome things for the church didn't he?
Now, when he was Saul, he did some pretty awful things, as he persecuted, tortured, and even killed those who were followers of The Way. However, God put a stop to that when Paul and two others were on the road to Damascus. Saul was stopped dead in his tracks by who he said was Jesus Christ in a blinding light. After that, Saul was no longer Christian killer, but a follower of Christ, and soon he would be known as Paul because he was a new creation.
Paul felt called to preach the Good News to Jews and Gentiles, yet the Jews continued to reject the message, so Paul continued to preach to the Gentiles who were otherwise rejected, but in Christ they were not rejected at all. For preaching the Good News, Paul was beaten, thrown in prison, and even stoned by the Jews, but he pressed on.
Peter and Paul were not divided, but it was the followers of Christ who became divided. In Paul's letters to the churches, he told them that the church was to remain united in Christ, but some began to take sides by following Paul, or Peter, or Apollos, or whoever. Paul asked them, "Did Apollos die for you? Were you baptized in my name?" He was glad that he did not baptize many so that they could not boast about being baptized by him. He called us not to follow individuals, but to be united in Christ as one body. Did we listen? Did we?
I don't think Appllos was ever mentioned in those videos. Did you watch them. James was a prominent figure too. Paul Pushed and Peter was put to death because of his and the teachings of Christ. Much of what you said abut Saul is true and Paul did see an apparition of Christ---so do others and they are persecuted--ever wonder why Christian's of Elite do that to others? It would be a wise move if you watched the DVD or video so you can watch and learn theo whole story.
I believe that Dave is referring to 1 Corinthians 3 Lady Guinevere, that states in verse 21 "Let no man therefore glory in men." Very well said Dave and those are the right questions that we should be asking ourselves. Did we listen? Did we? The growth of the early Church is truly miraculous considering the obsticles that were in their way.
Mike
Mike, with all due respect this isn't about scripture but historical reference to the persons who were invloc=ved in the Jesus Movement. Let me ask you somehing...when you have a huge job to do and you accomplish it--is it a miracle? Did you attempt to watch the videos or get a DVD of them to watch? Are you prejudgine things before having the information first?
Yeah I watched the videos before my first post and came to the same conclusion that Dave did. You do realize that it was Paul that wrote 1 Corinthians 3, don't you? So it was Paul himself that wrote "Let no man therefore glory in men." That kind of contradicts your comentary "Paul puts himself on a pedestal."
By the way, Paul was not a Roman soldier, he was an Israelite of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin (Romans 11:1). And Nero did not blame the Jews for Rome burning, he blamed the Christians.
You give me the impression that you are sorry that Paul and Peter were able to unite the Gentile Christians and the Jewish Christians. You seem to have an alterior motive.
Yes, I do know about Paul. The Christians wer the Jews..........apparently you went into the videos with a preconcieved notion.
Whatever you wish to call me or put on me-----
I just posted the video's and gave a short summary of each one without any prejudiced. How about you??? Can you do that??? Doesn't look or sound like it.........
I was unable to view the videos, but your remarks are right on according to my research. Yes, Yeshua taught "The Way" - possibly the oldest spiritual practice from before recorded history.
I established to my professional satisfaction that Paul/Saul was an agent of Rome sent to destroy Christianity. His teachings only seldom coincided with the teachings of Christ. Unfortunately, too many know only the teachings of Paul/Saul, not Christ.
Keep up the good work. You are appreciated by the scholars among you.
Blue Raven 6
blueraven6, Thank you for stopping by. I will see if they moved or took those video's out for some reason and try to fix them today.
It is also a misconception that Jesus was poor and meek and mild and wouldn't hurt a fly. He got really mad at the clergy of his day for doing such things as selling things in the church and a whole lot more, but the Christian's and clergy seem to downplay that and for good reason---they do the same things Jesus was against!
I checked out all the video's here and they all work for me.
Historically it is all of great interest to me, but I am still wondering at all these apparent discontinuities between the various books of the bible. How can anyone really study a book so filled with contradictions and then claim it is the way to find or be found by god?
There are parts of the bible that make great sense to me, such as love thy neighbor as thyself, etc. Other parts make me wonder who did the editing? Anyway, very good hub. Saul of Tarsus was indeed a Jew by birth but a Roman Citizen as well, as were many Jews in powerful positions, or so it seems. When he became Paul he remained a Jew by birth but seems to have gone into and out of his claim of Roman citizenship as he deemed necessary. It did get him out a few scrapes, though!
So when will we get the finalized, Absolutely New Testament, with all the contradictions corrected?
Shall we say that Paul would be an infiltrator for the Roman Empire. He knew what they did to people who didn't like the Romans. Either that or he was Bi-Polar. If you think about it the God in the Bible was kind of Bi-Polar too. Yes it makes you wonder who put what in that Bible to control whom. Rome wanted World Dominance---a very ingenious way to get it is through belief and fear and their pocketbooks. They do it very well in this century as well.
Here is what the real Jesus was all about:
Dear Lady,
Thank you so much in this my hour of profound disillusionment, a reminder of whence I came.
I was once a member of that order.
I spent some time with the Essene when I was researching my book on Bible History. They are very interesting people, then and now. Liberal. Loving and meek. Well educated, spiritually. I liked them.
Blueraven, Thanks for your comments. I wroet a hub for peole who are just starting to awaken that you might want tot atka a look at--and anyone else that reads this hub. http://hubpages.com/hub/Th-Long-And-Winding-Road
I added a few more links. Very interesting ones at that!
First, I am downloading the videos now and will watch them later. As Lady Guinevere knows I have been doing extensive research into the origin of Christianity. I will point out some important things to remember.
We do not know really who write the Canonic Gospels or even some af Paul's letters. Mathhew, Mark, Luke and John were names given to the unknown authors of the Gospels. Plus the first written ,"Mark" was written about 70 or 90 CE. No earlier than 40 years after Jesus' Crucifixion. To make matters more complicated there are no authored manuscripts to verify the accuracy of the copies in existence now. The Bible would not be accepted as verifiable evidence in a court of law.
When Saul of Tarsus/Paul appeared on the scene he came into conflict with Peter's followers over doctrine, especially circumsicion. That resulted into two factions, the strict Jewish faction and the faction lead by Paul. UNlike the Jewish faction Paul did not require converts to Christianity to be circumcised.Paul won the day and Peter's faction died out. Then there were many Churches of the Pauline Christianity founded, all autonomous until the Council of Nicea when Constantine I, Emperor of the Roman Empire made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire calling it the Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church. This was done for purely political reasons. Any onw who disagreed with the doctrines promulgated by the Council of Nicea suffered excommumication or even execution and their writings burned.
Peter, by the way was NOT the first Pope. He was Bishop of Rome (Questionable) the first Pope of the whole of the Roman Catholic Church was Syvester I, appointed by Constantine I.
If the interest is here i will write much more about this.
Eccles, So nice of you to drop by one of my controversial hubs. Please do add more when you can. If you would like make your own hub and link it to this one and I will add you link to here also. I bet you would get lots of "followers" in the forums LOL. The kind that follow me and spread evil things and names about me.
Lady Guinevere, I have 3 hubs but I can't work out how to link them. This one I would like to link:
At the top right of your screen add a Link Box. It will be added to the bottom of your screen. Click on edit and it will have a dropdown box to put your link into. am adding one on this hub with your link in it.
I tried adding a link to this page. See if it works.
Rev. Robert Tobin
I see. It works from my Hub to yours.
Good.
