Genji Takaya is a senior year student to has transferred to the all-boys school, Suzeran, which has more of the feel of a juvenile detention facility than a school, where the inmates are in control. He arrives there with a clear goal in mind, to unite and rule over all the gangs and factions currently sharing control of the school. His biggest adversary is Tamao Serizawa, who is the closest to being the reigning master of Suzeran if anyone could be considered so.

It was enjoyable to watch Genji climbs to the top through a combination of brute force, alliances and friendships. There is a lot of humour involved, and some of the best fight sequences I've ever seen. Not the martial arts superhuman moves, or carefully choreographed stunts of other action movies, but good old-fashioned street fighting. A judicious exaggeration in the cinematography gives the feel of the japanese manga upon which it has been adapted. I haven't read the original manga, but I still believe it is the best live adaption of the genre I have seen to date. If you can see it on the big screen, do it. If you can't, see it anyway. 4 out of 5 stars.
