Pete's Movie Reviews: Taken
47
Bryan (played by Liam Neeson) is a former 'preventer' for the government. His job was to deal with dangerous situations and prevent or resolve them, a profession which both opened his eyes to a dangerous world, and aided in ruining his marriage with almost no contact with his wife (Famke Janssen), and more importantly with his daughter (Maggie Grace) . When she gets kidnapped while holidaying in Europe, however, it is going to take all of his skills to find her and bring her back home, and exact revenge.
I really enjoyed 'Taken'. It was fast paced plot, and while perhaps not surprising, wasn't entirely predictable either. A violent and dangerous treasure hunt of sorts, with the prize being Bryan's own daughter. As with all such movies, there often happens to be just the right clue needed to take it to the next step, but it handled this better than most.
A good suspense thriller which is worth seeing. The performances were good by all, the plot was solid, and good cinematography too. 3.5 stars out of 5.
