Natural Resource Management

Fossil Fuel as know as petroleum is the one of the natural resources in the earth.

The usage of fossil fuel in world today can be found in almost everything in our surrounding. From medicine pills in the kitchen to the road outside our home. Even when one doubt that his or her belonging did not make out of fossil fuel.

Yes, it does not but the manufacturing process and the transportation of it do. The usage of fossil fuel has made the world a “fossil dependent” world. After the peak oil production in year 2000, a drastic decline of production of fossil fuel occurs. If no immediate action are taken against the problem, the drastic decline of fossil fuel production will lead the world into energy crisis. An immediate action to save the world are needed to diverse our dependence on fossil fuel and free the world from fossil fuel.

Economic

Modern technology and rising of developing countries increase the demand of fossil fuel. The rising demand of fossil fuel has benefitted the countries that produce oil.

However, some of these countries rely their economical growth solely on the oil exports. This creates an unhealthy economic foundation for the countries, for example Venezuela where oil exports contribute 25% of GDP, 60% of government revenue and 70% of exports to the country.

Depletion of oil supply may cause a market collapse in the country. Therefore, the capital should be converted into physical and human capital to secure a solid foundation for the countries’ long-term sustainable growth.

On the other hand, the overdependence of a country on oil trades will cause loss of competitiveness of other tradable sectors as well as reduce in production of other traded-goods industries in the country due to reduction in labor forces. Labors are attracted away into the country when wages of oil industry is attractive. Therefore, public sectors grow. However, the export income is not sufficient to finance the other sectors. Thus, it causes economic problem for the country.

Environment and Ecosystem Restoration

To free peoples from the oil dependent world at the same time create emission free environment, scientists choose renewable energy over fossil fuel. Wind turbines and solar panels create green-house-gases -free environment while current coal and oil power plants have harmed the environment and peoples’ health over decades.

Other than environmental friendly power plants, vehicles that are powered by alternative fuel have also been researched and developed, such as hybrid cell, wind battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, hydroelectric as well as solar battery cell.

Besides, a complete and effective set of policy must be executed to reduce the current usage of fossil fuel in daily products, such as most of the plastic products, road and etc. Such policies must be able to motivate and being a guide for the society to rethink and create products that contact zero fossil fuel. By doing this, the society is on its way to a low fossil fuel consumption if not totally fossil fuel.

Policies always be the main role to change situation, government and national organisation are the policies maker.

To free from people too depend on oil, others renewable energy shall come out to replace oil as  one day, when the oil have finished up. There's others way to help human live.

PETROLEUM MANAGEMENT OBJECTIVES

1. Establish a sustainable and efficient fossil fuel management
2. Maximize the value of fossil fuel resources for the benefit of nation’s society within the framework of high health, safety and environment standard.
3. Set the strategy for managing the fossil fuel efficiency, insulation, recycling, alternative power and new technology.
4. To achieve the efficient use of energy in a way that will help to ensure the continued availability of energy to meet the needs of the community, without compromising the sustainable management of natural and physical resources.

POLICIES

1. Achieve optimum extraction of the fossil fuel resources with good environmental consideration and good management practice which production involves numerous activities that can damage the marine life and environment unless proper designed and carried out.

2. Policy on the waste management and pollution prevention system may apply to all fossil fuel related industries to minimize the damage and disruption.

3. Environmental management must be carried out to protect the environment from disruption impact from petroleum activities.

4. Balancing between the government take and the industry profit, in order to maximize the economic potential derived from the petroleum resources.

5. Encourage the efficient use of fossil fuel energy to the use of appropriate energy saving techniques in industrial, commercial and residential situation.

6. Promote greater use of cost effective renewable energy sources in production processes and activities and in the provision of commercial and domestic energy services.

METHODS OF MANAGEMENT

1. Create social awareness about the importance of making fossil fuel a sustainable resource through media, campaigns and education.
2. Create the awareness of the hazards of dumping used oil and the benefits of reusing it.
3. To free peoples from the oil dependent world at the same time create emission free environment, scientists choose renewable energy over fossil fuel such as Wind turbines and solar panels create green-house-gases -free environment.
4. Establish thousands of collection centers and service stations are accepting used oil for recycling.
5. Automobiles that are powered by alternative fuel have also been researched and developed, such as hybrid cell, wind battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, hydroelectric as well as solar battery cell.

CONCLUSION

Although the fossil fuel is non-renewable energy but when it is being sustainably consumed, the supply of fossil fuel will be conserved and benefits the future generation.

The nation’s leader shall look at the problem we have in the society nowadays and have a far vision. Changes are needed to free the society from the dependence of fossil fuel and invent new technologies to lead people into the age of fossil-free.
