Phillips Plasma TV Review
First of all, I'm very surprise with the huge $500 discount at Amazon for this Phillips plasma TV. I have never seen such huge discount before. However, I will refer to the listing price $1899 to do comparison.
Comparing with Phillips LCD TV, this plasma TV has a large screen size, yet with a lower price because this plasma TV is 720p instead of 1080p. However, the picture quality of this plasma TV does not lose much to the 1080p LCD TV, partly due to the Pixel Plus 3 technology which creates natural like image through pixel matching. Despite the picture quality is slightly worse than a 1080p LCD TV, for a larger screen size, I think that the price is still very worthwhile
Viewing angle of this Phillips plasma TV is about 160 degrees, slightly lower than a normal LCD TV. Yet, up to 160 degrees, the pictures are very clear. Therefore, it is okay to have lower viewing angle if you have a smaller room.
For integrated sound system, the sound quality of the Dolby Digital is superb! It actually simulate cinema environment. Of course, if you are opting for better sound system, a 5.1 surround sound system will be PERFECT! However, I'm very contented with the integrated speaker of this plasma TV.
Lastly, there is an anti-aging circuit which increases the lamp life. So, the general life span of this Phillips plasma TV should be slightly higher than the LCD TV.
All in all, I think that this Phillips plasma TV is worth buying. When comparing with LCD TV, I do not think this plasma TV is at the lower end. However, if I'm going to compare generally, I will think that I will still be in dilemma because both have their pros and cons. So, I think as long as you enjoy the picture quality, whether it is LCD TV or plasma TV, you will definitely love it. So here ends the Phillips plasma TV review.
