Photographs of the Forum in Rome

The following photographs are some I took of the Forum on a trip to Rome. The impact of seeing the Forum for the first time is hard to describe. It is like walking into history: the place evokes and crystalizes everything that the viewer knows about Rome and Roman history. Included also are images of the Palatine and the nearby Colosseum.

Wonderful photos. My wife visited Rome and loved the experience. I have yet to go but would love to go back with her to share the history and splendour of this distant city.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Don

Glad you enjoyed them. I can't say I'm widely traveled, but I would say Rome and Istanbul are my two favorite cities so far. The old part of Rome is entirely within walking distance which makes it great for tourism. For example, it is quite possible to walk from the Vatican to the Forum(although it is a long walk).

Great hub, love the one with the Colosseum in the background. I have to say that Rome is wonderful. Check out my Rome marathon guide below, I hope you like it.
