Photography - In An English Country Garden
62In An English Country Garden
Summertime 2009
Summertime, the warmest season of the year and the living is easy. With my camera in my pocket, I give myself an afternoon off, to lick ice-cream and move slowly and gently amidst the unfolding promise of blossom and bloom In An English Country Garden.
I look and see the beauty of a flower, but when I look closer, and then even closer still, I find myself immersed inside of another magical new world.
A beautiful water lily - Now look more closely...
What else?
A short rest on a wooden bench to finish my ice-cream, the honey bees are in abundance here, three or four at a time on one small flower, too busy to take notice of me they buzz on by.
I watch them, their little legs laden with pollen.
I love this version of summertime by Leona Lewis.
Look out for the little guy on the second photograph below, he's sharing the petal with a greenfly.

The Rose
Another great song!
Time to leave the garden and go home ;-)

Hello Quirky Pearl! So, I spent a year living in the UK in East Sussex about 20 min from Tonbridge Wells. My husband is British and his mother has a beautiful garden there. It was nice finding this hub and thinking about how gorgeous England is in the country when the sun shines.......Thank you for this beautiful hub!
Best, GPAGE
p.s. I like your name ; made me laugh!
The beauty and spirit of an english garden has transcended through the hub pages to my appreciative eyes. You have produced a very nice hub and i like how you ended with the sunset picture, excellent.
As an englishman it is always nice to see english related hubs so thankyou for this hub.
Gpage - Yes we get a lot of rain here but tht is what makes it so lush and green and colourful on those sunny days, Im glad you enjoyed this afternoon with me and it brought back good memories for you.
