Everybody loves a picnic, but carrying a picnic basket can be a pain. Normally, they are made of wicker, or a synthetic imitation of wicker. The shape of a basket is perfect for carrying plates and munchies, but horrible if you have much food, or are traveling a long distance. For this reason, with a basket you are limited to places where you can drive and park a short distance from your picnic site.

Picnic Backpacks to the Rescue!

Picnic backpacks solve the above problems. Not only do they offer a much more ergonomic means of carrying your picnic supplies and food, but also they do it in a way you will enjoy.if you

Designers at some major consumer products company had been working on this issue for some time, and the results are nothing short of fantastic. The modern picnic backpack often comes with a complete set of dinnerware included, and sometimes even with wineglasses and salt and pepper shakers!

They have done a careful study of the backpacks that hikers and campers use on a regular basis. These backpacks are known for their ability to distribute the weight load properly and comfortably onto the backpack wearer. In addition to compartments, slots and holders are designed into the backpack, making it easy to organize all of the items you may need, whether it's for an overnight camping trip or quick hike to the picnic ground.

Insulated picnic backpack

Many of the new picnic backpacks have insulated compartments, perfect to hold that chilled bottle of wine or perishables during a hike on a summer afternoon. While you should not expect these to keep your food at temperature like a real cooler would, usually the insulated chambers in the backpacks are also waterproof.

This means you can put a Ziploc bag full of ice cubes or a cold pack in there with your food or wine. This will greatly extend the amount of time that your backpack and keep your food and drink cold.

Picnic basket backpack

There even models available that seem to combine picnic baskets and picnic backpacks. You carry them like a backpack, but when you get to the picnic area, you lay them down and open them up like a picnic basket. Some utility is usually sacrificed for charm here, but it is not a bad idea.

Wine picnic backpack

Backpacks are available especially for wine lovers! Normally these will have not only an area for dinnerware and food storage, but will also contain special features for wine lovers. These will include insulated bottle holding area as well as holders for your wineglasses. They often include a cheese knife and cutting board and a bridge storage area as well. A jug of wine, a loaf of bread and thou indeed.

A picnic backpack for 2

Or, a picnic backpack for 4. Maybe even a picnic backpack for six or eight -- although those would be fairly large backpacks. The point is that you can buy a backpack with a certain number of people in mind. This is really nice if perhaps, you're going on a picnic with your girlfriend and her parents or other older family members. He gives you a chance to be the man and carry the load for everyone. In return, you can make them do the dishes.
