Show everything – that’s Everything

Are you planning to take a plane trip anytime soon? Not only are you paying for increase fares, but be prepared to literally show everything - I mean everything! Air travelers in many major cities may literally be required to show everything through a revealing full-body scan prior to boarding planes.

This new procedure will most likely cause some passengers to blush while others will be livid. Critics call this next level of security measure a virtual reality strip-search. It is part of an impending "security evolution" at check points around the nation.

What is a virtual reality strip search?

There are whole body imaging machines that would essentially be taking a naked picture of air passengers as they pass through security checkpoints. The technology being used in most cases is called "Millimeter Wave." It differs from "backscatter x-rays" in that it utilizes non-radioactive electromagnetic waves to produce images.

There is much objection afoot to this invasive quality of such a see through approach. It should be noted that the objection is not to screening principles, but to the right to maintain private and personal consideration of not wanting to be naked. This is an extremely personal things to most people. This concern is not just genitals but body size, body shape and other things.such as evidence of mastectomies, catheter tubes, or colostomy appliances.

Full Body Scan - You Decide

While it is said that the facial features are blurred, there is still an issue of the right to protect privacy. Is this an intrusion of what is considered private? Will it make a difference if the scan is being viewed by the same gender as the scanee? What do you think? Post your comments below.
