Pill Identifier
68Unfortunately it happens!
So you have pills sitting in a baggie in the bottom of your travel bag and you'll be darned if you can recall what the heck they're for! Are you aware that most medications have some sort of stamp on them and they can be easily identified (even the generics).
So the first thing you might want to do is to check other bottles in your home and see if you have others that look similar to it. If not then the search is on! You can simply contact your local pharmacy and describe thoroughly the color, shape and any markings on the pills and they can most likely tell you what it is. They may be reluctant to do this by phone however, since they have no way to know who you are.
If you're completely uncertain what a pill is specifically it's a good idea to flush it! If you are sure it's part of a legitimate prescription, I've listed some websites that can hopefully help you identity it.
Tips: If you're travelling and find that you need to remove prescriptions from their original containers, mark with waterproof marker on the baggie or bottle what the pills are, who the pills were prescribed for and what the dosing requirements are.
Never take any medication that is unidentified as you cannot determine how it will react.
