When was PIZZA first amde ?

Italians have been using a thin bread flavoured with oil and salt called Pizza since ancient times.

The delicious taste of pizza that we are familiar with, orginated in Naples in Italy, where the bread was spread in the middle with tomatoes and flavoured fish and became known as pizza all napoletane.

Who Invented POTATO Chips ?

First Potato chips were invented around 1865 in New York and the story goes somewhat like this.

A chef made a batch of thin-sliced potatoes for dinner at aguest house but a guest kept on insisting that he wanted thinner slices .

So the chef cut the Potato in the thinnest possible slices and dropped them in the oil and thus produced the first potato chips.

Is CHOP SUEY a Chinese Dish ?

Even though Chop Suey is a very favourite Chinese dish and served in Chinese restaurants, it is not Chinese in origin but has an American origin.

This Dish of meat, fish, bean sprouts, celery, onion , Bamboo shoots and mushrooms is said to have been created in a California mining camp in 1800s. A chinese cook mixed together all the left-overs and served them to the miners.

The delighted miners asked as to what dish it was, the chef replied 'Tsa Sue' , which in Chinese means various things. Eventually, it came to be known as 'Chop Suey'
