Plan On Success

I would like to call to attention the incredible number of struggling actors, up-and-coming musicians, starving artists, studying dancers, and otherwise overwhelmingly determined creative types everywhere.
There is a powerful secret used by many other determined individuals that can provide a clear path to success. This secret, guarded by a broad range of tight-lipped, successful pizza shop owners, dry cleaners, lawn care professionals, hardware shop owners, florists, and even used car dealers, continues to escape nearly every person engaging in a creative profession.
The secret…? They all have a plan!
Amazing, isn't it? Successful businesses are almost always most easily built with a business plan that sets initial goals and outlines the series of logical steps that a business owner decides to take to reach those goals. This is pretty basic stuff for most conventional business owners.
Unfortunately, when it comes to people entering into a creative or artistic occupation, many times they forget about the basic concepts of starting a successful business.
Whether you’re a voice actor, stand-up comedian, artist, or any other creative sort, if part of your goal is to make money, you can give yourself a terrific advantage by recognizing that you are, ultimately, launching your own business. Once you understand that basic reality, you can begin to use the methods that have helped countless other small business owners build their long-term success.
Creating a basic business plan is not a particularly difficult task.It can begin with nothing more than a single page. In this case, however, what you should start with is simple: a goal. Your goal should be something relatively short term, perhaps something you want to accomplish within the first six months or so of being in business. Once you’ve set a goal at the bottom of the page, you should then head back to the top of the page and start to write down the steps you plan to take to realize your goal. This is a basic business plan, and it's a requirement for any business to be successful.
As you progress, you can add new steps. You will also find that you'll need to eliminate steps that you find less effective or that you've completed. Once you begin to achieve success, you will also update your core goal itself; modifying it to fit with changes or trends in the industry you're in.
Keep this in mind: defining success makes it easier to reach, and reaching your goal is much more attainable when working from a plan for success.
